ozboy 0 #1 July 1, 2006 Can you thermal in a wing suit? Can you tumble when leaving a thermal? I hang glide & have never sky dived, let alone wingsuit flown. I have never been interested in sky diving cause its over too quickly, but I might be interested in wing suit. Ta in advance
unclecharlie95 3 #2 July 1, 2006 No you cannot "soar" a wingsuit in the traditional sense but thermals can still improve your flight performance. They can cause mild instabilty.BASEstore.it
nathaniel 0 #3 July 1, 2006 Make no mistake, wingsuit flight is over quickly. Just not as quickly. You ought to have at least a couple hundred jumps before you even put on a suit. It's typical to start at 1-2 minutes of freefall, and with a lot of practice you might be able to get to over 3. Many people train for ordinary skydiving with a mental clock technique. With a wingsuit on, the degree to which your flight time varies exceeds that of a regular skydive. When your mental clock expires and you find yourself at 8000 ft, your brain says "forever" and it feels like you are living on borrowed time. But it's really only another minute or so.My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski? jakee 1,500 #4 July 1, 2006 Quote Can you thermal in a wing suit? Typical vertical speeds in a wingsuit are much too high for even the strongest thermals (10+) to keep you in the air. Even if this wasn't the case we'd be limited to dolphining straight through them since turning a w/s hard enough to core a thermal would increase your vertical speed way more than could ever be compensated for by the thermal.Do you want to have an ideagasm?
