AEsco48 0 #1 July 23, 2006 Are Full face helmets ok for Wingsuit flying? Im at 2 jumps so far....but i want to buy my own helmet...and want a full face for the added protection...i plan to do wingsuit once i have the necessary experience.... i would imagine its not a bad idea especially for flocks

RkyMtnHigh 0 #3 July 23, 2006 I have the Prodigy and prefer wearing my Z1 full face for wingsuit flying vs my Bonehead openface. _________________________________________
LukeH 0 #4 July 23, 2006 what do you prefer about the Z1 over the Openface for wingsuit flying?
RkyMtnHigh 0 #5 July 23, 2006 I wear my Z1 full face helmet for wingsuit, tracking, RW and raft jumps because it's quieter than my open face and if I get kicked in the face, it's a little more protection...crazy rationale perhaps, but that's my reasoning. _________________________________________
kallend 2,027 #6 July 24, 2006 I mostly use an OXYGN with my WS, no problems.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
LukeH 0 #7 July 24, 2006 Is your Full face not quieter and offering more protection than an open face on all types of jumps (rather than just the types you mentioned)? Crazy or not, I still haven't figured out what your rational is
pbla4024 0 #8 July 24, 2006 You cannot shout at people when you use full face helmet. It is quite useful for flying wingsuit. Fido

When under canopy up high, or when I'm head up or head down open face is my preference, but with the other disciplines which have me on my belly, I prefer full face. _________________________________________
uberchris 0 #10 July 13, 2012 bumping this thread................ so im pretty set on a full face for wingsuit flying, but my question is for all those with altimeters mounted on their mudflaps..... have you had any problems clearly seeing your mud-flap mounted altimiters, or is the peripheral vision good? what kind of full face do you have? cheersgravity brings me down......... monkycndo 0 #11 July 13, 2012 I wear a BoneHead Mamba when I wear a full face. I have no problem seeing my mudflap alti. The Cookie G3 and SQ1 Phantom have a much thinner chin and wide visor so even less concern with sight lines.50 donations so far. Give it a try.
