redfox 0 #1 August 24, 2006 Found on: http://www.coupe-icare.org/GB_oidit_T003_13lh8kjd3qaghpi3z5ozczw64if.html Quote A FIRST: SAILPLANE AND WINGSUIT PATROL FLIGHT Saturday and Sunday at 5 pm Believe it or not ! A world's « First », exclusively performed for the spectators of the Coupe Icare : Loïc Jean-Albert equipped with wingsuit (wetsuit with bat-like wings) during a free fall will attempt to land on a sailplane piloted by Martin Kroke. Two remarkable pilots will materialize man's eternal dream of flying without assistance. A wingsuit is a non-rigid structure made entirely of cloth. Loïc Jean-Albert pilots with his body, using his arms and shoulders as a leading edge and changing his profile with his hips and legs to control the angles of his trajectory. During this outstanding feat, Loïc will join up with the sailplane and actually attempt to land on it. Unbelievable ! (Scroll down a little bit...) Coupe Icare 2006 21-24 September Seems that Loic will try more than he showed us in his Video at Stupino Cordially, Herwig Added: some photos from earlier docking http://www.martinkroke-gaptallard.com/index.htm
chris74 0 #2 August 24, 2006 Hi Birds, Even LJA is a skygod, It won't be a real "First", Do you remember Deug and the pilatus ? It was the FIRST. Blue skies Chris
Tonto 1 #3 August 24, 2006 Dunna about that. The Porter had power. tIt's the year of the Pig.
The111 1 #4 August 24, 2006 There was some sort of re-entry stunt where they shut the power off and went into a drogue-fall, wasn't there?www.WingsuitPhotos.com
Tonto 1 #5 August 25, 2006 This one? Guess it's the first wingsuit glider dock then, since wingsuit/Porter has been done (with power) and freefall/Porter has been done. (without power) tIt's the year of the Pig.
jakee 1,500 #6 August 25, 2006 From the looks of the photos on redfox's link the glider was using both airbrakes and a drogue in formation with Loic. Stupid wingsuits are so inefficient Anyway, no matter what 'kind' of first it is, it's still beyond cool. Here's hoping we get to see some sweet video from itDo you want to have an ideagasm? mccordia 74 #7 August 25, 2006 So patrics 'get back into the place' action is still the only drogue-less dock/re-entry of an airplane? http://www.poxon.org/Craig/Skydive/PatrickDeGayardon/above.html But landing on top of an airplane...holy sh*t..I just cant wait to see this... Too bad we'll probably have to wait a few more months untill we see the footage on Soulflyers3JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
The111 1 #8 August 25, 2006 I don't know if I've seen the Patric footage... does anyone know how he actually negotiatied the "landing" inside the plane? If you just throw yourself in the door, you are going to drop 1 foot or 2 to the hard floor, which isn't much, but in a straight jacket that could cause some bumps and bruises at least.www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Lok 0 #13 August 29, 2006 Patrick De Gayardon footage was unbelivable. I still remember me 9 years before watching with a friend a VHS with Patrick's skydives, plane to plane, wingsuit flying over Grand Canyon..was simply amazing, we were like 'what the hell He is doing???He just flying'.....too bad he died, but will be in our memories for ever. 1 year after Patrick's death I jump for first time out of a C-130 with a round canopy. Loic is incredible skydiver and THE wingsuit god, I have seen his DVD 2 but unfortunately I haven't seen No 1.....hope I'll see it soon...

Costyn 1 #17 May 31, 2007 Very very cool. The man really is a god. Anybody know anything about this DVD they mention? "Salomon Adrenaline Hunters Summer 07" I can only find the Adrenaline Hunters dvd from a couple years ago. Cheers, Costyn. dploi 0 #18 May 31, 2007 Wow! I love that he flies up above the glider to get to the other side after docking it. Sick!
mbondvegas 0 #19 June 4, 2007 So awesome! Loic seems to be really pushing the envelope today. It is amazing that Patrick has already done what is currently cutting edge. That re-entry is amazing.- - - I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
