mnskydiver688 0 #1 September 25, 2006 I had a few questions about wingsuits. If there is another thread that covers a lot of details by all means direct me to it so we dont waste energy being redundant we do that enough in the air. Anyway, I am wondering if when you want to use a wingsuit does it have to get integrated into your rig, which would mean if you all of sudden wanted to do a RW or free fly jump it would take some time to swtich back to none wingsuit flying? Also, I know this is a very relative and difficult question to answer but just how many jumps should someone have under their belt before attempting wingsuit flight? Any other info that would be helpful is appreciated. ThanksSky Canyon Wingsuiters

Yes and no. It takes 5 - 10 minutes to hook a wingsuit up to a rig and about 5 - 10 seconds to unhook it. That being said, why would anyone want to take their wingsuit off their rig? Without your wings you'll fall like a stone!
 SkymonkeyONE 4 #8 September 26, 2006 I don't know, Scott. I think it probably takes Katie about the same time to rig into her Lady Flyer as it does her Classic II. Either way you look at it, neither system takes but a minute or two to rig up. I would not count "time to rig" as a real reason to chose one suit over any other. And yes, I totally agree that it's silly to de-rig a suit! Also, call me weird but I actually quite like hooking my wingsuit up, it gives me a chance to relax and think about the upcoming flights, reflect on what I've learn't from the last time I flew and just generally get my headspace right. Its like a Zen thing ya know?(Except on a really short call, then its a bitch)Do you want to have an ideagasm?
