Z-flock, locals only!

Recommended Posts

Just a quick note to say that we did four flights yesterday (monday) here at the hills. Everyone on the flocks (up to six way) lives here on the DZ. We got Randy Lopez (Towerrat on here) up on his first two flights. He nailed both flights, but I will let him post about the outcome of his second one....Caw! Caw!

Katie was backflying and barrel rolling like a champ on the last one, too. It was a pleasant day.

On three: one, THREE!

I'm not a smart man Chucky......but I know what a reserve handle is.

Yes it's true, contrary to popular belief I am NOT the smartest bird in the flock.

I flew over town, couldn't find my hacky and banged my reserve. I don't think I care much for the gloved wing, it caused me a little trouble. I ended up losing my freebag which, I have found are actually quite expensive. They should not call them freebags[:/]

Is that the reason you went to your reserve? I am assuming you had a hard time finding your hack with the gloves?

that was his exact problem, Scott. I just don't think the gloves make sense for a "learner" suit. Still, Jeff has trained an aweful lot of people here on Tony's webbed suits. There are some guys here that positively rule the sky in their webbed, big-wing suits (Fat Scotty Burns is an example), but they are experienced wingsuit pilots. I think the added control offered by the webbies is tangible, but at the price of lessened "feel" at pull time. None of the Lady Flyer models have webbies, nor do any of Jeff's designs. I think if Tony were to make the inside-of-palm side of his gloves out of doe skin (tackified would be even better), then that would really help to persuade guys like me that the benefit of the webbies outweighs the pull-time inconvenience. I just know that the 200 skysurf jumps I made in webbed gloves really bugged me.

Partially. That couple with my personal rig being higher on my back, me being where I didn't immediatley recognize, and getting lower than I needed to be. At the point where I fired my reserve I felt I needed a parachute, full stop. I may have taken a few more seconds, but made the decision to get something out ( approx. 2500 ft.). It was my second wing suit jump and I felt comfortable until pull time.
