freeatlast 0 #1 October 2, 2006 Hi there I've got a bit of time on my hands BEFORE XMAS and was wanting to find a place to flock. My thoughts was Z-Hills My current situation is that i'm out of practice (skydiving), my licence needs renewal (easy i know) and i don't want to wait until next year. My girlfriend doesn't skydive and can't take time off from work. So i'm looking at a 10 day trip in December BEFORE XMAS (got to spend it with the GF). My likely trip dates are 7th - 18th Dec. My needs:- It's got to be warmer than the UK It's got to be cheaper than the UK It's got to have reasonable planes It's got to be friendly .... There's got to be loads going during the week as well as the weekends And preferably somewhere cheap to stay. A local object would be nice ... I can get a reasonable flight to Spain / Florida and wanted to know people's opinions. I have been thinking of Z-Hills as they seem to have a lot of stuff going on year round and i know DZ's pre or post season can be like deserts where you sit waiting for loads .... I was thinking of spain but recent reviews of the Madrid DZ's (Lillo and Ocana have made me think again - lack of planes / facilities etc) So if you've got any ideas or if you know of a good place to visit let me know ....
 notsane 0 #2 October 3, 2006 Come on down to Z-Hills, get current and flock with us. We're a lot of fun .. especially if you buy us beer! It's hard to be sure ahead of time, but things should be fairly busy around that time. But not so busy you have to wait 2 hours for a load. Any weekend you can count on 6 or more flockers. Skydive Arizona fits all the requirements you listed and will be running full bore, everyday during the time frame you listed. If you stayed in the bunk house or at the new motel you wouldn't have to leave the dz for anything really. They also have the wind tunnel on site if you wanted to do that as well as locals who could take you to a few objects. They have a good deal of world class skydivers availbale for coaching, no matter what discipline you want to do. There is also a good group of wingsuit pilots there who are always willing to fly with anyone."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
 freeatlast 0 #4 October 3, 2006 Thanks to all who have pm'd or answered so far. This will be my only skydiving of 2006 and i am keen not to repeat the mistake that i made when i visited SDC just after a major event and found myself one of only about 6 people on the DZ all week. so if anyone else has any suggestions, then please drop me a reply or pm. I will be away for almost two days with work but will read all replies when i'm back. That said, if the guy is coming here specifically to jump wingsuits, and he isn't coming till december, then I am sure that he intends to make enough flights to qualify prior to leaving. If not, hey, I was just saying that the course is always available here. Then he can make $45 for the ground course, $50 in flight + slot for flashing groovy hand signals to his fellow UK skydiver buddies just so that he can make enough crazy money to pay for round trip for him and his girlfriend to Z-hills, a bunch of flocking with the Z-hills gang and a day for the couple at dizney Orlando.
