However, I am concerned the tape glue may have an adverse affect on the chest strap material. The composition of the reinforcement is gaffers tape, and black electrical tape. The chest strap material is quite soft, compared to the previous student kit I used.You are remembered for the rules you break. If the chest strap loosens, then the turn-back will take the load. Javelins with the mini-chest strap are not sewn back and should be put back through the buckle to prevent it from accidently loosening. Taping webbing is a bad idea, the gum attracts dirt, etc. The end of a chest strap can be sewn to stiffen it with a 4 pt. 'W' surrounded by a box or a confluence wrap of type IV. If you want something changed on your rig, take it those people who know how to make those changes...riggers! Sewing is easy, clean and NOT STICKY!!!
