arai 0 #1 October 17, 2006 okay so I've got a december vacation booked to eloy (unfortunatly couldnt make the holiday boogie so I go from nov 29 - dec 14) where I plan to jump 5-10 times per day and be past my 200 by the end of the trip. Does anyone have any info on instructors to get ahold of when I'm nearing the end of my trip? From most of the posts I've read on here it seems like z-hills is the bird dz. I've got a pheonix fly tracking suit I've been jumping, and my phantom should be ready before I go down south. So if I hooked up with an instructor I might be able to do some mock dives in the tracking suit flying with an instructor to get some tips or suggestions to work on while I'm down there. On good dives I've been able to get the track suit into the high 60's fall rate, so I imagine a bird flying dirty could come down and watch awareness, flight plan, deployment etc. I figured it would be a good opportunity to learn while I'm down south as I dont know too many experienced birds where I jump. Just looking to see if anyone knows if there are enough instructors / experienced birds to hook up with while I'm there, or if I can sched something in advance, as I think it would be a great opportunity to learn from some more experienced jumpers. thanks -arai-
LouDiamond 1 #2 October 17, 2006 There are several BMIs and wingsuiters at Eloy that you could fly with. Look up Ash or Dusty, both are BMIs and all around good skydivers. If you really want to put yourself to the test, look up Omar as he is by far one of the best trackers/instructors to fly with and can teach you to do incredible things that will help you in a wingsuit later on.I spoke to him the other day when I was there and he should be around during those dates.A good deal of local wingsuit flyers were also around and plan on being there from now through the holiday boogie, so you shouldn't have a problem finding someone to work with.Omar also has one of the original Loic suits and is a good wingsuit pilot so you can fly with him if you manage to reach 200 while you're there. If you're not familiar with any of the people I mentioned just ask Betsy or one of the girls at manifest to point you in the right direction."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
cfalon 0 #3 October 17, 2006 Look up John Campbell (BMI USA-018). My brother and I took our FFC from him back in February. He's a great guy and excellent instructor. They've got a little Birdman room just outside of manifest. Have fun! Wings are the way to go; flying not dropping.

Pendragon 1 #5 October 17, 2006 Ash White is your man; my own guru . He has an "office" of sorts in the main hangar. He's got suits to rent (Classic IIs - these are ideal for your first few). Not only is he a superb flyer, he's fun to be taught by (and can do great pictures and video). You've been using a tracking suit; I presume you've been practising the wingsuit-pull? I'm more than happy to fly with you too; I'm arriving on the 10th December, mainly to freefly but I'll have my Vampire and Acro with me. -- BASE #1182 Muff #3573 PFI #52; UK WSI #
