Netheravon's wingsuit weekend - flocking excellent!

Recommended Posts

Summer came early to the south of England this weekend and we celebrated in style with 4 solid days of Skyvan flocking with James from Phoenix-Fly organising, filming and distributing demo suits.

There were loads of suits around, the whole PF range from Prodigies for the hordes of first timers to a Super-V2+ (hairy edition, to match World Record Holder Craig Poxon:P) were there, BM was well represented and there was even a couple of Tony suits.

As for the actual jumping, well, we did not suck!B| I did 22 jumps, on 4 different suits and I wasn't the only one racking up the freefall time. I don't think we had a single jump without at least 3 or 4 people right there in the flock and with James' tips and tricks the skill levels were soaring, with faster builds and tighter flocks as the weekend went on. The final jump on monday evening was an 10 way flock + James on camera - the relatively more experienced flockers were put to shame as jumpers with less than a handful of Prodigy flights were sitting right in their slots, and the visuals from the clouds around the sky made it the perfect end to the weekend.:)
Huge thanks to Liz for setting up the weekend and James for the organising, coaching and making us all look good on cameraB|

(Speaking of which, here's a few of the best -
The first jump of the weekend;
The most diamond shaped diamond we made;
And the final bigway on monday.)

Any more pics of the Super V2+? I see what you mean by hairy edition ;).

Yeah, there's quite a few - Craig was jumping it all day friday. It's not new though, it was a prototype that Robi was jumping before the V2 was released and is apparently just a shade bigger than the production V2 (if I remember right what James was saying).

It was truly an epic weekend Kris, I think there are more planned for this summer though, the Skyvan will be back!B|

Friday - Neil de Wit, Justin Ferris, Phil Welch
Saturday - Ian Thomas, "Deano" Hoskins, Nick Brownhill
Sunday - Elana Cain, Jackie Harper
Monday - Austin Sambrook, Mark Bayada, Spike Harper, George Easton, Jay Brittain, Ed Bowyer

All the ones on Fri, Sat and Sun jumped but only Spike jumped on the Monday cos it was getting cloudy. He did well though, FFC in the morning then ended the day with 3 Prodigy flights and was on the 9 way!

I need to update the website with text and photos but am really busy at work so it may take a while. Anyone who wants to help out with writing any text for it, would be very welcome - reviews of suits, FFC experience, something about the flocking - email me on eightwayliz@yahoo.co.uk. Otherwise I'll put something up asap...

Your a very busy man and i would hate for your free time to be used up with something like this.

I think the words we have here are good enough to prove my point.
