chrisgray 0 #81 July 21, 2007 Actually Katee there are some wingsuiters in GA. My brother Scott Gray (The Brothers Gray) is based in Atlanta and jumps at ASC & The Farm. There are some other pilots that Scott knows so just send him a PM. He is a rated WS Instructor and is a great coach/teacher. He would love to have more people to flock with. If you ever find yourself in Virginia then let me know. ScottGray 0 #82 July 21, 2007 The flock keeps growing !!! Can not wait. How about some thoughts and input on activities, types of flights desired, evening events?? Is the group more interested in skills development (eg smaller tighter flocks)? Big ways (formation loads)? Small group coaching? Advanced formation flying? Performance flying? Distance/time challenges? Record attempts? High altitude wing suit jumps? Wing suit aerobatics / freeflocking? Topical training / info sharing: Backflying, wing suit camera, ect... Demo-ing different suits? The more people we have, the more manufactures will likely attend. Tailgate aircraft???? chrisgray 0 #83 July 22, 2007 All that sounds great Scott. We will have lots of talented pilots so I see no reason why we can't build some 3-D formations to include stacks and the like. Tailgate aircraft would be awesome. notsane 0 #93 July 30, 2007 I wanted to bring everyone planning on attending Flock and Dock 3.5 up to speed concerning what's in store for the event. We've been working with Skydive City DZO TK Hayes to arrange a second aircraft. At this point there is no guarantee that we will have a second aircraft. We considered moving the dates until later in the month, but since several people had already made plans and purchased tickets, we decided to leave the dates alone. What this means for the event is that we won’t be doing any multi a/c big-way loads. We think that’s OK since big-ways aren’t the focus of the x.5 Flock and Docks, smaller, more technical dives are. So we think that having a single airplane will in no way detract from the event, but if a second plane manages to make it, we’ll certainly make use of it. For me personally, I’m looking forward to not having to manage 2 airplanes, but rather to take a “small” load of 20 or so wingsuiters and do some cool shit. Chuck Blue will be organizing the other group again this time. In the future we’ll likely schedule the two events a little differently with 4.0 happening around Easter and 4.5 happening around Halloween. That should give us a better shot at good weather (without hurricanes) and a better shot at having more airplanes. I’m sorry if anyone finds this disappointing. If BIG-WAYS are your thing please be there for 4.0. You won’t go away disappointed. Scott PS: I need another backflyer or two who can keep up with Jeff on his back, and I don’t mean just flying flat. I’ve got a “pearl necklace” dive in mind that should make for very some cool video (along with some others!). Any volunteers?

notsane 0 #95 July 31, 2007 ... and there's also Jose Turtle who I think is coming. The dive is fairly simple ... a line of 10 or 12 flyers as the "necklace" and 2 or 3 backflyers who will orbit the line vertically as the "pearls". Over the top they belly fly and underneath they back fly, so transistions must be on heading. A similar dive involves a vertical open diamond formation of 8 or 12 with 2 backflyers orbiting vertically around the base. Learn from Jeff. Hook up your wings first!
