weegegirl 2 #26 March 24, 2008 Ummmmm, like hello??? Of course I will be there! I have retired from flying student video, so you know I'll have a wingsuit on that weekend! Please add me to the cool people list. Thanks and all the love to my gorgeous little rays of sunshine!
skyjumpsteve 0 #27 March 24, 2008 Lurch, I may have a Cypres and/or rig for you to borrow. I will check with Don and see what the 411 is with my second rig. One of my Cypres' had a problem in Puerto Rico and I brought it to the shop. It may be fixed by the Orange boogie or I may have a loaner. You should put some beans aside for an AAD...if you didn't know Pepperell now requires AAD's with the exception of "D" license holders. However, any instructors (including Wingsuit) are required to have one.

lurch 0 #30 March 25, 2008 Well I ain't gonna worry about that until and unless Fran comes up out of the blue and tells me I'm forbidden to teach anymore till I get one. My tolerance for that kind of arbitrary expensive pushiness is very thin. Been meaning to get one for awhile now, but the 1300$ for what amounts to an electronic insurance policy that is not required gear puts it fairly low in my priority scale. Replacing my weak-ass reserve is a much higher priority. Whats in your second rig anyway? I'm 90% inclined to stay put anyway just cause I have so much weighted against this trip... adventure fatigue, long drive, depleted travel/time off budget etc, but if what you got is close enough to what I fly I might still show. The only way I can make this trip and still make rent and jeep payments is if I can keep total cost of trip to under 1K. Last month and a half of my life has been very expensive. Lemme know whats up ok? I checked out the Cypres offer on the other page and his price is good, but it'd mean spending almost 2 grand on very short notice for a 2 day weekend road trip and counting the Philippines trip and the FnD 4.0 its way too much to be spending before the seasons even open. -BLive and learn... or die, and teach by example. lurch 0 #32 March 25, 2008 Sabre 135. A 150'd do but a 170 would probably f'k up my piloting by now and have me floating all over the place. -BLive and learn... or die, and teach by example.
skyjumpsteve 0 #33 March 25, 2008 Lurch, both rigs have a Spectre 150. And that would be a big 'ole yes on the Cypres if you want to instruct. Actual note from Fran: Yes, to clarify…All Instructors at PSC are required to have an AAD even Birdmen Instructors I hear you about the logistics for Orange...I can't leave until late on Friday so I don't think it is worth it for me to go. I am trying to figure it out but don't think it is going to happen. If you want the second rig for Orange or to instruct at Pepp no prob.

ScottGray 0 #46 April 3, 2008 You said the "R" word. Gods of Air, Wind, and Sky she did not mean it !!! We still have faith. Saturday they are calling for a chance of showers. History has proven that the forecast is about 50% correct for the area. Many of the fronts tend to hug the mountains to the west and can by pass central VA. If we get weathered on Saturday, we'll start the party earlier and do stupid human tricks !!! chrisgray 0 #47 April 4, 2008 I would expect us to jump both tomorrow and Saturday even with the slight chance of showers that is forecast. We will have enough people to make the plane fly even if the ceiling is a bit low. I am getting there tomorrow morning and will be joined by Rick Hough, Justin Shorb, and Scotty Burns. We will be jumping so come on out. We will make the most of it even if we can only get partial altitude. The forecast for Sunday looks great. lurch 0 #49 April 6, 2008 Really? I can't remember the last time you set yourself on fire or went bumperdragging down the runway for our amusement, but I'll be expecting a demonstration as soon as practical. I'll even do video... never let it be said I wasn't willing to help a brother out, you know... So how'd the event go, anyway? Last event I attended Stoney busted his nose landing a wingsuit, you guys must be hard pressed to top that, but I trust you all put forth your best efforts. -B Live and learn... or die, and teach by example. ScottGray 0 #50 April 7, 2008 While the weather attempted to washout the entire event, by any measure that matters the weekends was a huge success. Saturday greeted us with clouds at multiple levels with an every changing ceiling, mostly dropping during the day. Most wingsuit pilots got between 3 - 5 jumps, none from full altitude. The Charlottesville’s Paper came out to cover the event. Scotty B. (Sky2Productions) - Thanks for the Photo and Video support for the media !! We did have a first for the DZ with a single plane load of only wingsuit pilots that turned into a 9.5K 14-way. Saturday ended with dinner at the DZ and some of the stupid human tricks around the fire-pit. To include placing a large 16 inch x 20 foot log across the fire with one-on-one foam staff battles over the fire (Sam you rock girl). Sunday started and ended with rain, mist, and low clouds. We did the raffle and shut it down for the day. Central Virginia redneck entertainment took over for the afternoon, with us nearly getting tossed from a local bowling alley. As always, the best part of the event was reconnecting with good friends from across the east coast. Big Thanks To: Skydive Orange for making everyone feel welcomed. You guys are the best !!!
