Mirage G3 v G4

Recommended Posts

As I understand it, its longer and narrower, and has the option of fancy leg straps (ugly and unneeded I think)

"We tapered the main container to improve aerodynamics and ease of packing. We also shortened the reserve container, and made it slightly thicker at the shoulders. The result is a more streamlined and
integrated shape which also provides some subtle functional improvemen"

I didnt go for the G4, instead, I got the G3 with all the otions (unisyn and all stainless, etc)
My G3 will be here this week!

yeah, same here... I chose to get a new g3 with lots of options as well. The g4 is nice but you're not compromising the basic design of a nice mirage either way.
My buddy in Dallas has a new g4 and it's nice... but I honestly can't say that I like it any better than any of the nice g3's I've seen! The mirage just rocks! You'll like it either way! I hear the cut-in laterals are nice!

My opinion is get a G3.
I had the same problem G3 vs G4 so I had a close look of them both they look a lot the same but the backpadding on the G3 is much better.
So I recived a G3 in January with all options and I love evrything about it.

But in the end it's just a matter of taste I think.

I wouldn't know about G3, because i had it on my back only once.
But i own a G4, and i love it. Someone in this thread said that the G3 has better backpadding than G4. I don't think that is true. At least from what i tried, G4 has better backpadding, although i never tried G3 with deluxe backpad.

Is G4 worth the $300 bigger price? NO
Is G4 better? YES (if you like the new design, and cut in laterals)
So it's your call whether you want to spend another $300 on design and a little more comfort or not...
"George just lucky i guess!"
