manufacturer vs dealer

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I searched around, and didn't find much on this subject, so I figured I'd ask about and get some thoughts. Which would you all recommend for new purchases, using the manufacturer (for, say, and Infinity container, etc..), or go with a dealer like square one or some such. Pros/cons, overall recom. would be much appreciated! Right now, it seems hard to pass up on the 100's of $$$ savings with dealer, but if it's a huge tradeoff with service, returnability, etc, it may not be worth it. Thanks for the input!

The best dealers provide before and after sales service. All warranties are still valid when you buy through dealers and some - like Square One - even offer extra warranties.
Most manufacturers prefer that you order through dealers so the dealers can handle labor-intensive processes like measuring you (a task best left to professionals) and choosing color patterns.

Manufacturers will not undercut their dealers, so ordering direct is likely to be at MSRP.

Most of the time buying through a dealer will get you 20-25% off. For the most popular rigs with big lead times, large dealers also buy up production slots (like commodities trading) so you can get a rig _much_ faster than if you ordered direct.

I would highly recommend ordering from a dealer.

As stated, the service and long term relationship, you can build with a dealer may be one of the most valuble, yet least expensive things you by in this sport.
