Reinis 0 #1 November 13, 2003 Has anyone jump one? I'm considering to buy, as it is recommended for freeflyers! Any suggestions? Thanks! Reinis
rigging65 0 #2 November 13, 2003 There was a series of drop tests done about a year ago. I'm not at liberty to discuss details, but they were high speed, low altitude, heavy drops. I was very, very impressed. I'm sure Precision will release the info about the drop tests at some point...in fact, you may just need to ask them for it! Team Xaos also did some test jumps on them. Jeffro said they were pretty damn cool. You'd have to get more info from them about flight characteristics though... MrHixxx 0 #3 November 13, 2003 PM Groundzero on this one. Chris talked at length about the construction of these when I saw him at Couch Freaks. It sounds like one tuff MF of a canopy from what he said. Jon
Canuck 0 #4 November 13, 2003 Jeffro had a promo tape in Eloy last year that he and the rest of the Xaso boys had made in Kapow. Features a bunch of cutaways and landings on the r-max. From what I saw, they were opening real nice and landed sweet - although they were mostly doing 270s, in fact I'm not sure there was a single straight in approach on the video. Anyway, it certainly wasn't stalling out deep in the flare like the original Ravens are rumoured to (although I've never actually seen that happen either). Looks like a good reserve to me. bsoder 0 #5 November 13, 2003 what's the difference in construction between this one and PD's Reserve?
diablopilot 2 #6 November 13, 2003 One is built in Honduras, the other in Tennessee. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Reinis I got my R-Max 288 in last week and while I haven't jumped it(and hope not to for a long, long time), it seems to be a rock solid canopy. Being a big guy jumping in the moutains, I am very happy to have such an overengineered canopy. -Blind"If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." Amazon 7 #9 April 4, 2005 I jumped mine last Aug. I load it at 1.5 to 1. It was a cutaway from a spinning elliptical with the slider hung on the brake line cascade. I was face to earth in the spin and my RSL beat me to the pull on my reserve handle. The opening was a good one, on heading with no linetwists( whith the G-forces I was pulling in the spin the idea did cross my mind I may have to kick out of some twists) . The canopy flew well with normal toggle pressure for a 7 cell with no issues, to a single stage flare standup landing in the nice soft wood chip"target" at Jumptown. blitzkrieg 0 #10 April 4, 2005 i had to use my R-Max 118ft a couple weekends back. it flew great. i can't compare it to anything real close, as i've never w/l a 7 cell like that before. (about 1.8+) but it flew very nicely and had light riser pressure (front and rears). all in all, glad it was in my rig! i'm a Precision man all the way! ~E
