PhoenixRising 0 #1 September 4, 2009 Eli Thompson (1973 - 2009) was one of the great ambassadors of twin worlds of skydiving and BASE. Through the work he did with the RedBull team, he brought the passion that he had for these sports to an amazed and fascinated public, and inspired countless others to challenge their limits - both in the sky and on the ground. Despite his great accomplishments in his all too short life, he was always the first person on a dropzone to reach out his hand to the new jumpers - to share his love for the sky with those just joining the skydiving family. There were few, if any, times that I remember Eli without a smile on his face, and that smile and his charm set him apart. While we remember Eli as a skydiving trailblazer, we also remember him as a loving and devoted husband to Sarah and a dedicated father to his young daughters, Destiny and Tahani, and a son he will tragically never meet, at least in this lifetime. While any loss in the skydiving world is tragic, we mourn this one in particular as he was, unquestionably, a man apart from the rest. Eli, you will be remembered. And sorely missed. Fly free and blue skies, my friend. - Justin Shorb http://www.vimeo.com/6414051Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits

parachutist 2 #5 September 4, 2009 Quote Eli, you will be remembered. And sorely missed. Ditto! Watching Eli and other Flyboyz at the 1999 WFFC inspired me to learn more about canopy flight. I was observing their carving landings and thinking "You can't DO that!!!" Nice video, Justin
