piisfish 140 #2 March 31, 2010 Hi, welcome here. If you are interested in wingsuiting, start reading This thread I can't see the video from work but my guess is it is about wingsuiting (as it is posted in this forum) I wish you a happy start and progression till you get to the level where you can stick wings to your body and fly.scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
jakee 1,489 #3 March 31, 2010 A couple of hundred skydives to get to the point where you can jump a wingsuit from a plane. If you're sensible, another couple of hundred skydives to get to the point of 'normal' BASE jumping. Then, aim for at least 100 skydives with a wingsuit and 100 normal BASE jumps before you fly your wingsuit off and away from cliff. Fly your wingsuit off and away from a cliff for at least another 100+ BASE jumps (try and put the emphasis on the +) and you could start following a conservative line next to a cliff. Do that another few hundred times without dying and you might start to get good at it, and be doing something like what those guys are doing. And since it'll take you a few years there will be better suits to fly and new techniques to use by then, which is a bonus. But of course, BASE jumping has no rules, so you could do whatever you want, but if you're sensible, you'll find out where your nearest DZs are, see which one does a good deal on AFF training and see what happens from there.Do you want to have an ideagasm? antonija 0 #4 March 31, 2010 Phoenixfly had a quick wingsuit proximity flying course at the beginning of april last year... maybe they will do it again this year. If they decide to do it again I'm pretty sure it will be on their website tomorow... I understand the need for conformity. Without a concise set of rules to follow we would probably all have to resort to common sense. -David Thorne

Another post that makes me wish there was a way to vote up posts on this forum. This one should be highly-ranked. Well-said, in all aspects.Signatures are the new black.
