theflow 0 #1 April 2, 2010 I just saw this video, looked promising but after 8 years of development the designer has moved on. The glide ratio, testing, material and comfort seem to be pretty innovative, to bad none of the manufacturers seem interested.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddvmUqdJ_aA

mccordia 74 #3 April 2, 2010 There's been even more impressive results quoted on wingsuit, tracking and solid wing performance by other people/unknown manufacturers. Also without actual data available to anyone, showing the actual amazing performance.. With all current available options to read GPS data, overlay it on video etc. etc. its harder and harder to convince people about exeptional performance, if there is no actual proof represented. The Giboline wingsuits are here, why dont we see them listed number 1 on wingsuitcompetition.com, trackingderby.com etc, or even just a simple video with data overlay. Though development stopped, surely the suits still fly? The last video posted quotes performances way past anything else out there. What data was this based uppon? I cant wait to see it, if the claims are to be believed. Otherwise its not called 'performance' but 'sales marketing' I dont doubt their claims...but dont believe em either JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? theflow 0 #10 April 3, 2010 Well first off its not "they" or a company trying to market anything. It's one guy who spend his own money trying to perfect a suit. But he's not just some ordinary garage shop joe tinkering around, he used a lot of expertise in materials and body shape dynamics, r@d and the help of several experienced engineers including that crazy french pilot/engineer Ives Rossy ( his neighbor). He has his data backed up with more r@ d than you could imagine and invited other manufacturers to test his claims in a comparison study. Since he's using his own money he even told the current manufacturers they he would pay to comparison test his suit against theirs. Unfortunately none of them really stepped up to the plate, though they did show interest. The project has been totally dropped due to the designer having 2 kids and moving on, so these wingsuits will never see the light of day. Its to bad the 8 years of significant R&D will be thrown into the back room never to be used.
mccordia 74 #11 April 3, 2010 Quote Well first off its not "they" or a company trying to market anything. Other manufacturers got an offer to pay money for 'secret' technology, without seeing any proof of performance/gps data or ANY actual showcase of what's being sold. I know I would be throwing cash at anyone either without some actual data backing it up either? I see a lot of 'coorporate greed' quotes on his YouTube account, aimed at companies. Last time I looked Tony, Robi, Loic, Maria etc where not driving hummers, ferarris and lamborgini's. Most people do this for the love of flying, and in the end, hope to pay their bills. If someone can land saying 'this is faster than any suit' and quote numbers, surely there must be some GPS data to shut me and anyone wanting to see the actual facts. Its not showing ANY technology. Not allowing anyone to steal any design features. Its simply backing up the marketing quotes with actual/factual data. Quote The project has been totally dropped due to the designer having 2 kids and moving on, so these wingsuits will never see the light of day. So why not drop the secrecy shroud and fly the current existing prototype suits for some data, so everyone can see what they are missing? Not video...just fly it, and if the performance is true..it should appear at the top spot in any GPS competition.com. Seems like a horrid waste to let these suits lie in a garage somewhere, and never actually show/prove what the creator and friends are so loud in saying online everywhere? You can write 20 pages of defensive text here... Just posting some of the flight results would be enough to shut anyone up. Otherwise I stand by "kinky rubber wingsuits, with great videos filled with empty marketing quotes" Hope to be proven wrong.... Quote Its to bad the 8 years of significant R&D will be thrown into the back room never to be used. Seeing as the designs he did seem heavily influenced by the work by Patric Deug & those that followed...why should money (nobody paying the big sums of money asked) be a reason for not releasing it? Why not give to the community instead of sitting on the goldmine nobody wants to buy? Again...dont get me wrong... I just SO hope there was some actual data POSTED. Not on design. Just on the performance. Quote Since he's using his own money he even told the current manufacturers they he would pay to comparison test his suit against theirs. If he uploads the current available data to www.wingsuitcompetition.com/ppc/ he gets his data compared with just about any suit on the market flown by some of the best pilots worldwide.. All for free, with data he already has..JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
