Skwrl 56 #51 April 15, 2010 QuoteCommunity, I have a goal for us: Let's try to make the naked docked wingsuit rodeo diamond with hot chicks and surf it down a giant puffy over a beach on a sunset jump We live in a strange world indeed when Mike is the voice of reason. +1 for Mike's plan. And we don't even have to worry about how we define "naked". (Although I'm pretty sure I want a very clear definition of "hot chick".)Skwrl Productions - Wingsuit Photography Northeast Bird School - Chief Logistics Guy and Video Dork

Ummm...I've seen some of the ladies astride Mike's ass....and they do NOT fit *my* definition of a "hot chick." Objection, your honor, goes to subjective and specious (or is that "spacious," cuz her ass was pretty fat....)
SkymonkeyONE 4 #53 April 23, 2010 QuoteEnough freaking drama. I've avoided this until now, but I have to speak my piece. Guffaw!! That was EXCELLENT shit, Scott! I am so happy I logged on today and read that. Chuck
lurch 0 #54 April 24, 2010 I too have stayed out of this up until now. Most of you know me. I haven't been around as long as Scott Bland or Chuck Blue but I do have some history in the sport and I've been on almost all of the biggest wingsuit bigways ever done. Watched it grow from only a handful of birds in the world capable of docking or even getting near each other, to a max of 71 birds flying in formation. Those of you who were standing there with me in Elsinore '08 or within a couple of miles of where I was standing when they announced completion no doubt heard my reaction. Similar to my usual brief speech on landing, but a bit louder. Do I think it would help gain recognition for our art, to have objective standards? Yes. Was I any less exultant than I could have been because the first megaflock at Elsinore had no official recognition and now shows up in wikipedia as the "unofficial" world record? No. I have no agenda. No politics. I am not a leader in the sense people usually mean when they use that word. Those who could be said to have followed me into the sport were not following me nor was I leading. I was just flying with them. They are my friends. If you're one of those who've looked me in the eye in flight, and seen me grinning back at you... so are you. I am not one to be easily dismayed nor discouraged. I fly purely for the joy of it and nothing else. But the one thing that HAS dismayed me has been seeing friends polarize into politics and the knives come out. People I respect... my brothers and sisters in the sky with bad blood between them. Bury the hatchets people. Talk to each other. Please. I'm starting to worry that if I fly with one clique at one event I will be excluded from another because Clan A thinks I'm a traitor for flying with Clan B. If this shit keeps up I'm gonna go back to doing solos. When the next megaway happens I want to see all sides united as one. Nobody excluded. -Nobody- left out. If somebody's got a grudge against somebody else? Prove you're the better bird... fly with them anyway. And let them fly with you. Victory for all. And no fucking politics. Nuff said. Lurch out. -BLive and learn... or die, and teach by example.
mccordia 74 #55 September 30, 2010 A last minute reminder to everyone who wishes to give input, write down thoughts or make suggestions. Only a few more hours and the IPC workgroup closes that segment of the research into wingsuit judging parameters. Please submit your own, educated and informed feedback and suggestions on judging parameters and the practical application to the IPC forum before Oktober 1st if you want to have input in this situation. After this date, the voting members will be taking a look at the materials gathered, and look at putting together an advice they can put up for vote at the next IPC meet.JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
