customguy79 0 #1 May 13, 2010 For thos of you that have flown both of the current versions of each please explain why one favors you over the other, or it doesnt make that much of a difference. I have the option to buy one or both and just looking for feedback from the field or air as you will. Thanks for your time

badenhop 0 #3 May 14, 2010 there are many variables to consider what are your flying skills? what is your body type? what kind of flying are you doing? These are just a few questions....... So many variables to consider, as Monkey said, there's the A/P cross: Shadow. If you want to play well with others, you need a suit that flies with others. A fat guy in an Acro may not be able to keep up with a skinny guy in a Phantom. Acro does not use grippers, which is awesome when you get the flying style dialed in. As far as speed, Phantom can go faster. If you can, get one of each.================================== I've got all I need, Jesus and gravity. SuperGirl 0 #6 May 14, 2010 QuotePhoenix fly makes the shadow? yes, they do. The Shadow is basically a Phantom legwing with Acro armwings (no grippers) Jarno can chime in more since he's been putting lots of jumps on one (see picture)

Flock speeds, both vertical and horizontal are another topic.Acro is really fun, easy to fly, but not for fast flock. Phantom is quicker in flight, easier to flock. Shadow I only have jumped mine a few times........================================== I've got all I need, Jesus and gravity. You'll need to be a little more specific, both the Phantom and the Acro have great all around flying capabilities. If you're leaning a little more towards being able to get great speed and glide, maybe try the Phantom, if you're more interested in dynamic flocking with lots of grips, sharp turns and just throwing the thing around the sky, maybe try the Acro. Another thing to consider is that the different arm positions make the suits feel very different to fly, and need a different set of skills to get the best out of them. If you're able to try them before you order, you may well find that you prefer the feel of one suit over the other.Do you want to have an ideagasm? mccordia 74 #9 May 14, 2010 The shadow is very similar to the Acro. Only it has a bit more legwing, making the suit have a bit more drive. Suits of this size are the best choice for people with a lighter/smaller frame. Quite often you see people resort to big suits, to get 'mega performance'. But quite like canopies, that need a certain wingload to get the drive, most smaller people in big suits will strugle keeping up with flocks and/or other flyers. Lacking the forward speed. Ive been flying a shadow for most of my jumps, and enjoy it A LOT. Its quite similar to how a Phantom flies, only with the hands freed up to take docks/give hand signals etc. I have a video edit done, with some 'Shadow flying' in it, which Ill try and post later today. It quite shows how wonderfully easy the suit is to fly, and how little inputs you need to get the suit flying left, right, up and down..JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? mccordia 74 #10 May 14, 2010 As an additional note: The shadow has been available 'off the record' the last year. Most dealers know of the optional acro/phantom hybrid being available. But based on the large volume of orders, and public interest, we are now looking at making the suit available in a more public way over the coming months. More information to follow..JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
