base851 0 #6 July 22, 2010 I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but I've know people my age who have the emotional maturity of a 14 year-old and 14 year-olds who have the maturity of a 40 year old. I'm assuming the adults teaching him are responsible and heads-up, so while 14 is sorta pushing it, if the kid has proven himself in skydiving and has his head screwed on straight, I can live with it. I wouldn't say I'm particularly thrilled at the notion, but I can live with it. BTW: Just finished watching the vid. Looks like he did great. Welcome to the flock! Skyjester 0 #7 July 22, 2010 Probably there're somewhere funny ways . . . but in this case the responsible instructors and safety officer applied for the special permit and followed strict the rules by governmental regulatory authorities.don´t pester the jester . . or better: WHY SO SERIOUS ? ? www.pralle-zeiten.de

Skwrl 56 #11 July 23, 2010 QuoteI'm just wondering how a 14 years old can pay for his jumps. Probably the same way a large number of "adult" skydivers do - a combination of mom and dad's money and under the table income.Skwrl Productions - Wingsuit Photography Northeast Bird School - Chief Logistics Guy and Video Dork

Sirob 0 #15 July 23, 2010 I heard form some medical people that this kind of activity (skydiving or diving) should be avoided for children until development of the hearing and vestibular sense is finished. Is here somebody that can bring more light here?

Is here somebody that can bring more light here? I heard the same, also that that is at about age 6. Not an official source though. We did take at least one DZ kid here for a tandem at 4 (or rather, said kid arranged the entire tandem jump himself! LOL), but the kids I see/film are usually at least 9, and a lot of kids are "highschool" graduats so 16 yrs and up, no problem there. ciel bleu, Saskia
