I, for one, haven't cared a whit about Russia's Army attacking NATO for a while; it's long been an open secret that corruption in the Russian kleptocracy included their Armed Forces with money being siphoned off instead of invested. I'm also not calmed by a failed Russian ICBM launch anymore than a North Korean failure. Russia has thousands of warheads and, just like their infantry, they won't care if only half make it through. All said and done, while the war in Ukraine seems to be going as well as can be hoped for it's plain folly to think that Putin is the only Russian madman with a finger on a button.

Something fun to watch could be the future of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the psychopathic Wagner commander. He doesn’t seem to understand Putin’s game of building up then chopping down his closest advisors, and is acting as if he’s genuinely important enough to be indispensable to the Boss. After Prigozhin accused Russia’s General Staff of treason(!) for not giving his mercenaries enough ammunition, Putin dropped a line into yesterdays speech urging an end to petty squabbles and distractions among military leaders. Prigozhin’s response was that he hadn’t bothered to watch Putin’s speech because he was too busy with the war. The 5th story window is calling…

Worth also inviting him to source the events in these videos as well. Most of them didn't die, and most of them occurred either pre-Covid or at least pre-vaccine. Brnovich, a Republican, kept it private. In April, the attorney general — who was running in the GOP primary for a U.S. Senate seat — released an “Interim Report” claiming that his office had discovered “serious vulnerabilities.” He left out edits from his own investigators refuting his assertions. His office then compiled an “Election Review Summary” in September that systematically refuted accusations of widespread fraud and made clear that none of the complaining parties — from state lawmakers to self-styled “election integrity” groups — had presented any evidence to support their claims. Brnovich left office last month without releasing the summary. etc.

Just as China is not going to go democratic after Xi dies. IMO the western NATO countries closest to Russia have the best feeling for Russian warmongering. From Latvia to Poland defense budgets are on the increase. From Finnish, Swedish and Germany appeasement of Russia is over. All knowing that the Russian military is a paper tiger. Soon Putin will be resurrecting the gate guardian T-34 tanks for service. But as long as sociopaths in Russia can use a subservient media. As long as Russia is a kleptocracy led by gangsters. It can jail opponents, draft more fodder and start more wars. If it decided that Belarus is full of previously undiscovered Nazis Would anyone stop it?

Taking Ukraine is not the top of Putin's mountain. It's the bottom of the next one.

The Sailrite is a cool design, it looks like a Consew 146RB1a and a Bernina 217 had a Baby ...LOL . If it just has to be a Portable, for a ZigZag option ? , Then get a Sailrite like Riggerrob suggested . It a little smaller, with 7"on the work area than the standard 10" industrial, but totally makes up for it on their whole self-contained portable package design. It's a combo straight-stitch/zigzag . It's feed is walk foot, strong puncher for it's size, and probably the portable sew with most needle punch power sold . The old pfaff 230's are around for a lot less-$ than Sailrite, and good for a lightweight fabric stitcher . If not need portable package, maybe look for a old Singer 20U zigzag, singer made a million of them, I see them around for sale on the Craigslist here once in while, and always pretty cheep-$ . Also look for the old Singer 143w strait-stitch/zigzag. I used to have one of those and they are old but 'strong' built model. . .

There is a middle ground between the two of you. Joe may well be right that it's not the situation to send western troops into, and Bigun's right that the 'boiling frogs' approach has been unnecessarily cautious. There have been numerous points in the war where supply of heavier and longer range weaponry that we ended up giving them (or will give them) anyway could have made huge differences. Imagine what 10 or 15 Himars and plenty of rockets could have done to the convoy stuck outside Kyiv, and imagine what that would have meant for the eastern front that many of those Russian vehicles ended up redeploying to? We're way beyond the point of worrying that any of Putin's extreme threats might actually be serious, and the damage done to the Russian military will already take years or decades to repair. At this point we shoud stop with any worries about what might be seen as 'offensive' and supply them with whatever they can use that can cripple Russia's ability to 1) bomb civilian targets across Ukraine and 2) protect the territory they've seized. Even if that means enabling Ukraine to strike hard at airfields and supply depots inside Russia.

I despair for the future of the USA when so many of its citizens support people like Walker, Trump and DeSantis, et al.
