https://skydivingmagazine.org/browse-issues/ I started skydiving around 1987 and reading theses old magazines have given me such great pleasure and sadness. There is so much that I missed before I started skydiving and since then, so many great people are no longer with us. On the plus side, I really enjoy the history and the great memories of all that has happened. I knew Mike, but not very well and now can really appreciate the writing and history. Thank you Sue for making them available.

Your local post office, very likely, has a sign in the window that states: "Heroes work here" above an American flag. No one flinches or even quietly calls bullshit because we have become a very jingoistic nation. Even if Brent didn't go to war he deployed, just like Tim Walz, overseas in defense of America and deserves our thanks, respect, and the protections our nation should afford it's military veterans. But he has not earned the right to curtail our First Amendment right to not STFU which, ostensibly, he was on the wall in Lithuania to protect. We are on a dangerous trajectory when we believe our nation is a binary composition of military veterans, the overwhelming majority of whom just held jobs in safe places, and whuffos who never wore a uniform.

Agree and apart from that I love to give Brent a deserving hard time. Personally I'm not offended by his STFU because he puts his combat boot in his mouth regularly and its all just a part of his GOP-right wing schtick. happy belated Airborne day Brent.

There was some issue a couple of days ago that required a massive restore of the site; it may have been related to that. Otherwise, I don’t know Wendy

A woman and her husband are in the emergency room and the woman is giving birth. As soon as the baby comes out the doctor grabs it and starts flailing it around beating it on the table and walls. 10 seconds later, as couple is freaking out, he stops and says "Haha, Just kidding. It was already dead."

pretty gray area indeed. I always joke (being from Canada) when talking about immigration there. People who are generally anti-immigrant here in the USA will say things like "Well you have immigrant problems in Canada too!" and I usually say, "yeah we do, but we like it when they open restaurants.... we want to try the food" That is the upside. I generally have no issues with the language issues, they can speak what they want. even in the USA, it's called the first amendment. Same for food, clothing, whatever. none of my business and they are welcome. The downside... the Air India bombings in the 80's.... the Sikh's brought their politics and their terrorist cells into my home country and set up shop in Canada... fuck that and I still hold somewhat of a grudge against them for doing that. And the Sikh community could have done more to expose that to the Canadian authorities, but then again, now I am blaming the 'culture and immigrants' for the actions of a few. There are always extreme examples. We conquered the west and committed a genocide that continued into the 90's (Catholic schools for native kids), when we were actually the immigrants. The high road is always best. follow the laws of the country, leave people alone if it does not affect you and no, culture wars are not an issue that affects you.... if you are afraid of the country turning brown and Muslim, then you better get fucking and start pumping out white Christian kids then...
