Yeah thanks~ I just try and use correct words for the situation and when some one says "Halo" jump im thinking of a guy/girl (got to say non sexest these days) getting out at 30,000 ft and pulling at the last second trying to get under radar. But yeah i have seen several drop zones offer this to experenced divers. Looks like a lot of fun! The high altitude part not the "trying to get under radar". Anyone try this with a squirl suit (wing suit)? Cheers Jon W

I think this pole is broken, there was no boobies selection... I thought i read in the requirments that if any pole was established it would have this option... See http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4275779;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread Also, not 100% on this but you could almost change the name to "What ADD did you buy" and get the same results... Cheers Jon W

Just being a sticler but really we are just talking about a Hano jump... not really a Halo right? High Altitude Low Opening = Halo That second part is the dangerous part... Cheers Jon W

in search of a DZ to start skydiving!
spikes2020 replied to rommel87's topic in Introductions and Greets
I lived in Qatar about a 30 min flight from there, and the only problem is see is if you did it in the summer... It gets way too hot! But shit durring the winter i would kill to skydive in Dubi! For those who dont live there the summers get to about 55C and its not a dry heat as the Persian Gulf is right there. It depends on the wind direction... Edit: spelling, yeah i suck at it. Cheers Jon W -
how old is too old?!? (buying a used reserve)
spikes2020 replied to impossiblelove's topic in Gear and Rigging
Yes but new guns have better designs and all the latest gadgets and gismos. Also you didn't buy it 15 years old, so you know you've taken care of it... I am just saying a few extra dollars for a pice of mind... I still dont think i would take a 15 year old gun in to IRAN or anything even if it was well taken care of. Cheers Jon W -
how old is too old?!? (buying a used reserve)
spikes2020 replied to impossiblelove's topic in Gear and Rigging
Not noting on the size but i treat my rig as it saves my life every time i jump from a plane.... (as it does save my life every time). What would you risk your life with is the answer... I lock my rig up at home so no one can get to it... If you were going to war tomorrow, would you buy a 15 year old gun or bullet proof vest? Just my 2 cents, i am sure if a rigger said it was okay, it may be okay, but its also what your comfortable with... When you need to pull that reserve a single hesatation could also mean life or death... Cheers Jon W -

http://www.dropzone.com/safety/ That is for the past 8 years... If you want to go punch the numbers feel free but it does look like the average is going to be more than 25% are due to landings you could go and see how many of those are swooping.... But i agree skydiving is a risk and swooping is just another risk... if you do it, you know what can happen Edit: Spelling (yeah i suck at it...) Cheers Jon W -

America~ Fuck Yeah! there are companies that will put solar cells on your roof and what money you save goes to pay for the instalation until its paid off then you get all the savings... Most of the time it takes 5 to 10 years to pay off the systems just fyi~ if you have free labor then maybe 3-6 years to pay for them selfs.... Cheers Jon W

Wingsuit tries to board plane w/o leg straps
spikes2020 replied to bodypilot90's topic in Safety and Training
That seems like a really hard thing to miss.... but it happends.... Leg straps are part of my 3's self check.... 1) 3 rings, chest stap, legstraps 2) helmet, goggles/mask, Altimeter 3) main, cutaway, reserve Anyone else have a standard check list they have before jumping? maybe not a list but something they go over and over.... Cheers Jon W -

Camera was not an issue with that jump, but what next? that could apply to anything... what next what next? why are we skydiving... seems like your chute might not open next... what if the world ended..... Why do you have such a negative attatude, He landed safely and learned from it.... that is what really counts... If we all could take one thing away from this too would be awesome... Cheers Jon W -

spikes2020 replied to captain1976's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I agree.... thank you for finding those numbers !! Just wondering if it was getting it's percentage of events or way more..... I agree but sometimes if it does it 10 to 15 times in a row, you do start to question the coin.... It just seemed like a big outlier (not saying that the DZ is un-safe as i have never been there) Cheers Jon W
