  3. Yeah I know it's kind of off but I did the same thing with scuba diving and went on to become an instructor, and again when I decided to race motorcycles. with this it's a little different it's to motivate me to loose the weight. Right now I'm at 287lbs so I want to be at 260lbs. I called a few places and were told it could take 6 weeks to have a custom rig made so i will use that time to do some serious weight loss. The other thing was none of the training facilities had anything for a guy my size and say I need to be no more than 230 and that's a lot to drop (not saying it's imposable) I found this one guy that gave me this option "well I kind of made the offer because it was getting frustrating be told I was too heavy" Maybe I could do an online progress journal from start to finish including weight loss, diet, and training to my A license.
  4. So I have decided to take the plunge and learn to skydive. I have a lot of work cut out for me as i'l currently 280 lbs and have to loose 20- 40#. I think i'll smoke crack for 6 weeks and loose about 80# (JUST KIDDING) But I have started my diet today and I sign up at a gym tomorrow morning. I live in Mebane NC and plain to take the course at Raeford Parachute Center in NC. This was the only place that was willing to work wit a larger guy over 240# With the understanding that i will be buying all my gear before the course starts. I fell good about this and the owner is willing to sit down with me and help me make the right decision on what rig to purchase. I welcome all advice you can offer about starting skydiving.
