Are you familiar with Bob Knoss?? I'm not sure if he's still around but you should try looking him up. I think the two of you would really hit it off...
-
Sorry. Clearly not a well received post on my part. I'll try and do better, lol...

I've came close to checking out of that group many times. Eric isn't to blame, but there's so many idiots over there that it's become pointless. I enjoy the Facebook Live discussions, and that's pretty much the only reason I've hung around. Otherwise it's always the same old ridiculous theories: "Cooper never jumped", "It's obviously McCoy", "The Ingrams were in on it", "Cooper never existed", etc. Cle Elum would fit right in with all that BS.
-
You would gain a lot more traction over on the Facebook group, with all the others that have dumb theories. You're kinda just wasting your time here.

I've suspected that the story Reca told about walking into the diner and meeting the cowboy could be true. Only that it didn't happen on the night of the hijacking, or maybe it did. But it had nothing to do with Cooper. A lie wrapped in a blanket of truth.

I rank him right behind Kenny...

A lot of suits. I wonder how many of those were thrift shop purchases?

I can't imagine a small store like that kept a very detailed inventory to the point that they knew some beef jerky was missing. Unless he took all that was there, which he may very well have. In any event, it seems there were quite a few criminals out and about in that area that evening. Heisson Store, attempted break in at a house, and most likely a hijacker!

I thought those from the Vortex represented themselves well. I shot Darren a message after it aired and told him that. Otherwise, I personally did not care for the show. Same old suspects getting rehashed. The money and the tie are where the focus should be. But, I guess the general viewing audience wants suspects. Most will look at it and try and guess which one is the culprit, as if it's a game of Clue and it has to be one of them. Oh well, it's certainly not the first time that History Channel has delivered what I considered to be a disappointing effort. I guess it's a good quick overview of the case for someone not really familiar with it.
-
I noticed that as well, although Hunt is one of the more ridiculous "suspects".

That's not really been the case on Shutter's site lately. Miss a month and you only miss a handful of posts. I hope it picks back up. GO CHIEFS (Can never pull for the Eagles)!!

It may have came from Ralph H? Prior to Gray's book, the reenactment on the Unsolved Mysteries episode has Cooper asking the ticket agent if the plane is a 727. Ralph was interviewed for that segment, as you know. Or perhaps it was just added in there by whomever put the reenactment together and it just became fact moving forward.

I've always been of the opinion that Coop probably lost the money when he opened his chute. I've wondered though, if he may have decided to rid himself of the money when he saw McCoy get busted with his ransom in his house, dead to rights. That would have been in the spring of 72. If he had already determined that he couldn't spend the money due to the serial numbers being checked, then I could see him ridding himself of it. He wouldn't be the first person to dump evidence in a river. But, as previously stated, burning it would seem a lot less risky. Perhaps, he ran out of matches?

The problem with this movie is that there will be things in it that become "facts" that are not. Hollywood always plays loose with actual events takes their own liberties with the truth. In a sense, they sometimes change history, or at least change perception of it. The Zodiac movie is a great example. A lot of people watched that movie and took it all as fact. It was not, though some of it was. Unlike Zodiac however, I doubt this movie will introduce any suspects. I don't think it's that type of movie, as it's more about Tina. Still, I suspect that even with Tina involved, there will be things they get wrong, either deliberately or just out of ignorance. It will be nearly impossible to convince the newcomers that are led to this case through that movie that those things, regardless of their significance, are inaccurate. Just me, but I would be very skeptical about anything "new" that came from it.

So it wasn't twine after all?
-
I take that as the person writing the article knew about it more so that Cossey since Renton Aviation isn't really part of his quote.
-
That is what I was referring to. McNally also tied the money to himself with twine that he bought from a hardware store. Anyone wondering what a Duane Weber hijacking would look like should look no further than Martin McNally's adventure. Damn entertaining story though.
-
Martin McNally might disagree with that, lol.

Davey Jones and Michael Nesmith .

I finally got around to watching Gryder's recent McCoy video. Dan does a good job with these, and he comes across as a decent dude. But, he did act like a spoiled little kid when the reaction to his first McCoy video wasn't what he wanted. It's too bad about the parachute. It's one thing to have a suspect and be wrong about it. But it's something else completely to knowingly put out false (or manufactured) evidence to try and prove your argument. Dan certainly isn't the first to do this when it comes to Cooper, nor will he be the last. There is no question - planted or not - that he knew that wasn't Cooper's chute. He's not going to be able to walk that one back. Credibility is a fragile thing. Once it's gone, it seldom returns. Also, who the hell walks around in the woods with a damn guitar?
-
Is that from the TV show a couple of years or so ago? I don't remember the exact scenario, but something was tested and they were hopeful for Cooper DNA but instead got Tom's DNA. If I remember correctly, this was one of the shows with Ullis. Maybe the same one where he found what he thought was a piece of a parachute and took it to 377 to possibly ID.

We all see what we see. Personally, I think Vordahl is close to both sketch A & B. Unlike guys like Christiansen, who some think look like A (I don't see it), but nothing like B. Or Gossett, who looks a lot like B, but nothing like A. Hell, take away the peak, I think he's close to the Unsolved Mysteries sketch that Schaffner helped with.

58,500 is actually a pretty small number. If all of Blevins posts hadn't been removed it would be double that.

I doubt there will be any hurt feelings if you do not look at this thread for another 10 years.

Agree 100%. Although I do think that Olemisscub is going to video his presentation and post it somewhere. I think....
