Worrying is why you are called a mom and it just means that you care. I will give you the same advice that I gave Rhino. Just remember that she will always be your daughter and nothing can change that. And as she gets older she will be able to think and make choices for herself. It seems like an eternity now, but trust me, it will pass in the blink of an eye and you will look back and see that you have her forever. Time is on your side. So love her, hold her, teach her, play with her and be her strength. If you do this who do you think she will be drawn to. Do not fight the Ex as he will take it out on her. Instead fight for her by being there for her.

You need to follow the two golden rules of life. 1. Don't sweat the small stuff. 2. Everything is small stuff. While life seams overwhealming at times, it will pass and you will look back and realize rule number two.

George Carlin for President sounds good to me.

Lisa has never been anything but a good bud!! She has made the world a better place and from what I can see, done a great job raising her son. If I ever have the opportunity I will make this person fear the fucking dark!!! I hope somebody replaces you vaseline with Bengay!

Anybody that puts sex and friends before skydiving and beer really SUCKS !!! Not that I would not do the same thing. Boy, talking about being self centered and only thinking of your needs !!! Have fun and remember, smile for the camera

As nice as it sounds I think you would just end up with a lot of politics and arbitrary enforcement. Thanks for the reality check. For a second there I had a brain fart and thought there was a solution!

In light of recent post about certain drop zones banning sport/fun jumpers and their fraud/misrepresentation, do you feel that the USPA should develop a “code of ethics” for drop zones? If the mission statement of the USPA is Dedicated to Promoting Safe Skydiving and Supporting Those Who Enjoy It”, do we want these drop zones using their membership, displaying our logo and representing us publicly for the sole purpose of making money?

Skybytch, you would have been happy without any planes. All you needed was a good swoop pond to be naked in !!! (So I hear)

Sorry Jim, you posted while I was writing my reply.

No, read what he said "9000 lbs" which at 6.84lbs/gal. is 1315.8 gal. of Jet-A fuel. Dvide that by 180 skydivers (number of seat belts) = 7.31 gal. per skydiver. Not bad, $10 in fuel per jump/skydiver!!!

Survival Skydiving, I like it !!! Sounds like a new X-Game sport !

Let me see if I understand. If the mission statement of the USPA is Dedicated to Promoting Safe Skydiving and Supporting Those Who Enjoy It”, would this put them in violation of the mission, goals, rules and regulations of our association? Do we want these people representing our membership and our sport to the public? To blindly judge me and every other skydiver is prejudice by any definition. To hold us accountable for others actions clearly shows how incompetent they are. Why is it that the other 190 DZ’s in the USA don’t have this problem? If they speak badly of our members in writing on a public web site, imagine what the say to the people that come there. And to think that only their training and instructors are good enough is about as elitist as you can be. You can bet that I would recommend their DZ to people, NOT.

These post show why America is Great !!! I have somewhat of unique perspective of September 11, 2001. By 1:45pm that fateful day my partner and I were being deployed to the WTC from Homestead Air Force Base. The next 22 days would forever change my life. As we traveled from Fort Dix to ground zero, the streets were lined with people with signs of every type thanking us and hoping that we would find survivors. People from every walk of life were on West Street with everything that you could imagine to help us. From socks and food to safety equipment. Total strangers would come up to us and hug and thank us. Clergy would bless us. Even crime dropped 45% during the first week. Upon arrival our 62 member team was divided into two 31 member teams that worked in 12 hour shifts. We were assigned to the bravo (night) shift. When we arrived at ground zero it was already dark. From ground level it looked like a picture from “Independence Day”, from above it looked like Hiroshima. Our first assignment was to locate and rescue nine people that were “trapped” underground and had called for help on a cell phone. After four hours of searching it turned out to be a hoax. The days passed and the number of bodies and parts rose. Every time that we would recover a police officer or firefighter the entire site would stop working, the body was draped with an American flag, two lines were formed and full honors given as they were removed. On the fourth day this happened five times on one shift (three Port Authority Police Officers and two FDNY firefighters). As the days went on people would come up to us and show us pictures of there missing loved ones and would ask if we had seen them or if we would look for them. On day six after our shift had ended we were asked to visit staff at the command center at Pier 92. While were there a seven year old girl who was the daughter of one of the lost firefighters came up to my partner and put a “Medal of Freedom” around her neck. This pretty much did it for me. There was not a dry eye in the place. At the end of our rotation our task force had to be ordered to leave as none of us wanted to quit. During our trip home, all of us reflected back at how something so bad had brought out the very best in all of us. THIS IS WHAT MAKES AMERICA GREAT !!! God Bless America !!! It apears to me that Hastings has tried to be fair and work with her in the past. I am sure it took extra staff time to prepare her to jump. Also the last time I checked all freefall instructions are in sign (relax, pull, arch etc..) I think it should be pointed out to her that skydiving is a privlige not a right.

Just remember that you can't trust anything that bleeds every month and lives !!!!!
