would it be better to check your canopy before loosening your chest strap in case you need to cut away? "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing

I need Some good Questions to ask!!

I think th best trolls are the ones who start an argument about someone else being a troll or not. "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing -
This got me thinking. Is the canopy supporting the full suspended weight because it is descending or is the actual loading varied depending on the rate of decent? Wouldn't the wing loading increase when you flare? "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing

Only if your wing loading was 1:1 to begin with "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing

winds in access of 300mph???
kevinwhelan replied to potatoman's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Wouldn't it all be the same? wouldn't the plane be going at the same speed relative to the air around it regardless of what that air is doing, and the same for a person in freefall. no??? What Made You Start Skydiving?
kevinwhelan replied to Kiakambala's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The best story I ever heard of why someone started skydiving. When the Irish parachute clup was starting they put up posters around the place. One woman saw them and went home to her son. She said she had seen posters up around the place that there was a "Parish Youth Club" starting in the town and he should join it. He said he didn't tell her for years what they were realy doing "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing -
I trained on static line and have never seen the static line attached to the canopy at all. We just have the line attached to the bag. What are the advantages of having it attached to the canopy? I think it more depends on the dropzone and the people there than the method. On a big busy DZ it is easy for an AFF graduate to just jump on their own if they are a little shy to ask more experienced jumpers to jump with them. When I did static line it meant that I had to be observed for each stage of the progression, so my first 20 jumps or so were basiclly coach jumps at no charge. But at that DZ you were never charged for any instruction apart from the FJC "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? Has anyone been to this boogie, if so I would like to hear what you thought of it. Info at http://skydivesuriname.com/uk/dropzone.php thanks "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing

Just wondering how this guys attitude was through his static line course, and if it raised any concerns with his instructors before this incident. "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing

Don't know what the charity situation is in the states, but hear in Ireland well over 50 percent of tandem jumps are made to raise money for charity. A lot of charitys advertise on radio and tv asking people to do a jump for them and raise money. The jumper must raise at least twice the cost of the tandem. "be honest with yourself. Info required on an incident

First sorry if this info is already I tried a few serches but turned up nothing I got this in an email yesterday from a verry reliable scource and am unable to contact the sender "Display Jump/Wingsuit Fatality - A Skydiver with over 700 jumps and without a Display Rating, decided to take part in a display. He was a competent jumper, current and familiar with wingsuits and wingsuit jumping. On the display the jumper was wearing a wingsuit, with which he was familiar. Exit altitude was planned for 2,500 ft. agl (actual exit altitude was 2,700 ft agl). The jumper planned to fly for 5 to 10 seconds towards the landing area before opening. It appears that the jumper had a very low pull, which may have sniveled a little and then had severe line twists. Eye-witness accounts vary at to opening height and canopy deployment (whether there was a malfunction, twists, control difficulties) but it appears there were one and a half revolutions under canopy before impact with the ground and then hitting a parked car. The impact point was about 5 metres from the nearest spectators. The jumper died from the injuries sustained. Recommended wingsuit flight procedures indicate a higher than normal opening height for wingsuit jumps. Exiting from 2,700 ft. agl may not be very wise. Many things were wrong about this jump and they combined to produce a fatality. Sticking to the rules, while not being convenient, usually proves safest. (See previous issues of Skydiving Notes for material on Displays)." anyone know where and when this happened? "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing -

Here it is from a post by Zing "f you want to know what spending a weekend at a skydiving boogie feels like you need merely take all your money out of the bank and burn it. Then snort the ashes into your nose and mouth, throw yourself down the stairs a couple times and then drink until you pass out in the yard in a pile of dirty clothes. You'll feel just like you spent the weekend boogieing, without all the hassle of traveling to a dropzone and doing that skydivin' and partying stuff. " "be honest with yourself. I just had a thought, We have plenty of time for that here in Ireland, the weather sucks. I was wondering about your actual wing loading. When you are in level flight and are obviously descending. dose your decent lower your wing loading. My probably flawed reasoning for this is as follows. As you are descending gravity is exerting a force equal to your weight (mass?) on you downwards and your canopy is exerting a lesser force upwards is your suspended weight less than your actual weight. Or dose vectors take care of this "be honest with yourself. Why do I want to go smaller? It is not going to make my penis longer." ~Brian Germain, on downsizing
