It is almost always more expensive to go anywhere other than "home" to skydive cause of the travel costs. But that isn't why you go. Cheaper jump tix at the "other place" just make the given trip more attractive. We go for a change of scenery and to meet more of the family! I read it as well. I was raised in a firly strong christian environment. But my parents often encouraged me to have an open mind about things. It was interesting reading this book in public because people would ask me what it was about and then when I told them they would tell me that it was blasphemy and shouldn't be reading it. Yes. Complete Strangers. I am curious as to how much of it is fiction and how much is based off of history. I have been planning to do some research into it using the book as an avenue to compare and contrast. good book I recommend it. If you are travelling in Canada with your rig don't count on getting it on the plane with you. I have walked onto planes with my rig on my back in the pre 9/11 world but since then I have had to check it. And the reasons they give are absolutely hillarious. Ignorance... ain't it grand? about to head there now... snow on the ground,the chill in the air, and the grey skies with low clouds indicate that this season is over. .. oh and the girlfriend left the apt this morning for the last time. should really stay home today but I have to eat and I don't get paid if I am not there. Hi, I haven't read all of the other replies to your post but I just thought that I would let you know that as a skydiver, even a student, it is pretty hard to actually be alone. Once people see you at the dropzone a time or two you will quickly gain a family... keep your head up, and keep jumping. oh and if you are nuts.. I don't know what they'd call me. I don't think that his point was that he minded the nickname... it is kinda cool, has a story that goes with it... but more the people who use it as an absolute label and talk him down behind his back and think that somehow he is a bad flier because of his name...
