So Trayvon stood his ground after being pursued by Zimmerman.
-
A National Health Service means no insurers, no lawyers and reduced costs. Check it out.

It's not robbers they're after. ...An African-Caribbean person is up to 27 times more likely than a white person to be stopped by police using those powers. The Met said officers would be told to focus less on stopping people for small amounts of cannabis, and instead focus on those suspected of violent offences and carrying weapons. The force aims to reduce by half searches for drugs where none are subsequently found...

What's happening is that the police are creating crimes. Black folks are getting stopped and searched many, many times over while at the same time being verbally abused. If they answer back they're arrested. It's past racial profiling it's at such a level it's out and out racial abuse. And it's been going on for years.
-
I reckon Zimmerman will get what - 20 years? I bet he wishes he'd stayed in his nice safe truck.
-
So racist police stopping and searching black folks on a whim, abusing them, bullying them, calling them names is OK with you. As long as they don't do it to white folks.

...Britain's highest-ranking police officer has vowed to become an "implacable enemy" of racists at Scotland Yard, saying he will "drive them out of the Met". The Metropolitan police commissioner, Bernard Hogan-Howe, also said inquiries into 10 allegations of racism against the force would be finished within four weeks. The police chief was confronted on a radio show by the brother of black bus driver Kester David, whose suspicious death in 2010 is to be reinvestigated by the force. In a recording played to Hogan-Howe, Roger David said: "I think your force needs to buck up its ideas and realise that black and ethnic people are here in Britain, we're part of society and we request and demand the same kind of treatments as white people in Britain...

It's also covered by a National Health Service.
-
If this is your attitude (after you've edited it up a bit) then don't whine when you get the inevitable street riots sparked off by racist police.
-
In the UK we don't ask ourselves these questions. We have a national health service and we just get treated. You should try it.

Mnealtx knows. The black kid deserved to die. He's told us over and over again. If Zimmerman didn't get him - some other vigilante would. He shouldn't have bought those sweets - that was the most suspicious thing. Zimmerman is a hero don't you see. Mnealtx knows this.

The usual suspects have shut their eyes and opened their mouths to make a lot of noise - but the poll shows that by a two to one majority here the Buffet Rule is considered a good idea.

...Just how much of a windfall are tax cuts for the wealthy? The extension of the Bush tax cuts passed last year will provide $146,000 in annual tax savings, on average, to each of the wealthiest 0.1% of Americans...

...It recently emerged that 30.7 per cent of the UK's young black males are unemployed, a significant finding [the overall rate of unemployment is 8.4 per cent]. But how does the problem here compare with the US? The answer is that we fare worse on every count. A paper due to be presented at the British Sociological Association’s annual conference today shows that in the last three recessions, unemployment among black British men was up to 15 per cent higher than among those in the US...

except that he will have been jailed for weeks up to a year for the trial, have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars he doesn't have, and in any case still be marked as a killer with possible physical retribution. If he is the victim, he has still lost. If he wasn't the victim, then he's getting 25% of the punishment owed to him. You've forgotten about his multi-million dollar book deal and tv interviews. Murdoch will be all over him.

Just part of a pattern. ...“White people want to view this as an isolated incident and dismiss any possibility that racism could be at play. Meanwhile, black people see this incident as part of a long -standing and well-documented pattern of racism, where men of color are routinely racially profiled and treated unfairly, often with deadly consequences,” Keleher said. “What’s most troubling about this is that the views of most whites seem to align closely with those of the Florida law enforcement establishment, which, by its actions and inaction, has been mostly sympathetic to the perspective and plight of a light-skinned armed and aggressive assailant than an unarmed and murdered black youth,” Keleher added. The online poll of 1,922 Americans was conducted between Monday and Thursday and included 1,289 whites, 219 African-Americans and 267 Latinos...

there's evidence....snort. That's like asking her to identify the killer out of a lineup of GZ and TM. So she doesn't know the sound of her own son? You think she's lying.

...The affidavit statement of facts presented in yesterday’s hearing conflicts with Zimmerman’s claim that Trayvon Martin attacked him as he was returning to his vehicle. It states: Zimmerman disregarded the police dispatcher and continued to follow Martin who was trying to return to his home. And: Martin was on the phone with a friend and described to her what was happening. The witness advised that Martin was scared because he was being followed through the complex by an unknown male and didn’t know why. Martin attempted to run home but was followed by Zimmerman who didn’t want the person he falsely assumed was going to commit a crime to get away before the police arrived. Zimmerman got out of his vehicle and followed Martin. When the police dispatcher realized Zimmerman was pursuing Martin, he instructed Zimmerman not to do that and that the responding officer would meet him. Zimmerman disregarded the police dispatcher and continued to follow Martin who was trying to return to his home. Zimmerman confronted Martin and a struggle ensued. Also: Trayvon Martin’s mother has reviewed the 911 calls and identified the voice crying for help as Trayvon Martin’s voice...

...The billion-dollar antidepressant industry funnels meds to roughly one out of every ten Americans—more than 33 million people a year. Yet given their prevalence, new research has public health experts scratching their heads about a worrisome trend: whether or not patients get prescribed these meds may stem from broader factors that have nothing to do with mental health at all—namely, race and health insurance status. Consider one study from February. Scientists at the University of Michigan analyzed prescribing patterns among physicians treating patients for major depression. Analyzing medical data from over 125 million patients, they found that doctors were far more likely to prescribe antidepressants to white patients...

..."Let me emphasize that we do not prosecute by public pressure or by petition," said Corey of Zimmerman's arrest, which has received enormous public and media attention over the last several weeks. "We prosecute based on the facts of any given case as well as the laws of the state of Florida." Martin's parents spoke after the announcement and his mother, Sybrina Fulton said, "We simply wanted an arrest; we wanted nothing more, nothing less. We just wanted an arrest, and we got it and I say thank you, thank you Lord, thank you Jesus."...

it's good if he is eventually found guilty. It's bad if he's found not guilty and it's obvious in hindsight that it would be the result (either due to the evidence of the glaring lack thereof) because a trial will cost him substantially, regardless of the outcome. But not cost him as much as the kid he shot dead.

This is more a case for Colombo.

If they formally withdraw from the commitments they made in signing the NPT, yes. But right now, they're committing a treaty violation. So they complete their civilian energy program in a few years time then they withdraw from the NPT and legally produce their nuclear weapon.
