  1. OK then..... Tim was flying his VX 79 Pilot was Catherine, but it would be rude not mention that Tigs was also on the plane. I would guess the 'pilot in focus' had something to do with the cameramans gender.... Other details correct, although I think Mike spells his surname Pira It has been done several times before - famously in Austin Powers, but Team Extreme have done several tranfers with a variety of vehicles. What they said about the practice on the show was pretty close to the truth - something like (NOT a direct quote): one day practicing, driver on the runway, skydiver down the side of the runway. At different airfields.... They actually did also get some practice together the day before, but it wasn't going as well as hoped and the outcome on the shooting day was as hollywood as the presenter said it was. 2. Through complicated Amazon search gone wrong (I don't want to talk about it) I came across an obvious classic called Freefall, starring (not sure I can use the word in this context?) Eric Roberts..... No idea what its about but it does have picutre of a parachute on the front, and I suppose a bit of a clue in the title. Anyone seen it? Is it as depressingly terrible as it looks? 3. Nice one Mark....... When do you need my address to send me my winnings? Skin, very entertaining. "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent

    1st Jump Classes

Morpheus (IMHO) are worth considering. PM me if you want more info.... "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  5. Haven't logged my jumps since christmas.... ...and that includes 2 training camps . My protrack has all the info, but it is going to take me ages to write them up To answer your question: no, I don't know exactly how many jumps I've got - there has been many last-minute hop-n-pops or whatever when I my protrack has been in my other helmet. I was pretty sure I knew which my 1000th was, but I have been less and less accurate since then. Doesn't bother me, the 1000 mark was the only one I was interested in really (in terms of numbers) "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  6. Are they paying for their jumps? If so, what's the problem? They are a customer like everyone else - what they go and do with their freefall experience is their choice, be it 100 yds away or a 100 miles "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  7. Fair enough. "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  8. Don't want you to feel like you are being picked on dude, but please tell me that the subject title of your post is the wrong way round? "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  9. Although I broadly agree with your view that using skydiving as a means for suicide is something none of us want to see, I also think there is something that is being missed here..... Someone who's state of mind is at the point of taking their own life is probably not too concerned with the impact it may have on the sport. Condolences to the family and friends. Quick $$$

Old one, but I still like it : - Create a company called "The Arse Expanding Dildo Co" (or similar) - Advertise in all the obvious places - When you get the orders through, cash the cheques. Then send an apology letter about stocks running out, and include a company-branded refund cheque for the full value. ....and you don't even have to lose any vital organs
  11. what the fuck............. and you think this is a good way to get people to take you BASE jumping........ jesus man......... why the fuck are you low pulling on skydives? have you any idea of what can happen due to the complexity of your rig - you wanna experience a bag lock screaming through 1000ft at terminal then be my guest - hey but i guess you know all the risks, have assessed the risks and know exactly what you are doing........... I mean you have 100 skydives...... Damn Mikey, sometimes you make it almost impossible for a person to hold his tongue. Old, over used, but very very apt: Pot, please let me introduce you to kettle.......... 12. Yeah, but you are an extremely stupid bastard Mac.... "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  13. I mean this in the nicest possible way...... How did the others learn from your mistake when he pulled you aside? "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent

    Span?

That's a "buispantiff"...... "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  15. Amen to that "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  16. voted A...... but it wasn't the object. There again, I would guess that the majority have little to do with the object itself. Edit for spelling "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent

    jump?

You really are bored mac..... "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  18. Dude, I can ground crew you from here over the phone..... you mad b@st@rd..... My new employer know it to be a skydiving injury, therefore it must be true Sorry, off topic.... and in response to the above query about effecting salary, it didn't - just happened to come up at that point in the negotiations... "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  19. I work in the TV (no, not trannies ) industry in the UK. I've been employed for a pretty big project and they are concerned that they might lose me... I think. They don't really undestand of course. Perceived risk etc etc "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  20. small print: as a newbie... From what I understand, the speed of the opening is a (big?) factor in how the heading performance operates - therefore the faster the opening the better average of heading performance... C'mon Mac, this is one especially for you "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  21. Where is the yes/no answer? My current employer, yes, my new employer (I start this Monday), no - they asked if I would stop skydiving at the "determine how much money I am getting" stage and weren't too happy with the response..... (The fact that I'll be showing up with a broken leg on Monday..... well, thats another story ) "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  22. I voted no: 1) As Zennie points out, anything that removes the hands on relationship with the kit is probably a bad thing in BASE 2) I personally wouldn't want to give someone the responsibility (a legal site is not necessarily a 'safe' jump) 3) I'm far happier jumping my own pack jobs (although I have, and will, jump other peoples too) "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  23. OK, I need help from a kind & sympathetic soul to get my new rig to the Orlando tunnel... A friend of mine is doing a tunnel camp 9th through 11th of May, but my rig will either be in Deland or Z Hills and the friend is without a car. If anyone is passing through Orlando from Z Hills or Deland between the 9th and the 11th and would be happy to drop it off for me, I would be very grateful - as will be demonstrated with copious amounts of beer if/when we meet
  24. ....naughty boy Faber - how does that remain on topic? You may not be able to spell, but you can at least read the rules, right? And to keep this on topic; Guinness is very helpful before jumping as the iron content helps with climbing. Or something. Oh, and you should never jink and drump. But wearing back protection helps if you do... "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." David Brent
  25. I use a Z1 with the visor removed. Not through any particular preference, just what I had available. Quite happy jumping with it, doesn't restrict vision too much. Only downside is not being able to hear so well... I also have an armoured motocross jacket... can't remember the make. I don't find it restrictive (apart from when wearing the gear bag), and I wear it when climbing etc. Fortunately the only time I've needed it was falling over on rocky ground walking away from the object after a jump "If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation."
