If I were you I would check out the base zone on dz .com there are links at the top that you should read. I have 1 base jump and would not even think of using a hp canopy. If you really want to get into base get the proper gear your life is at stake here. David

Hi everyone I am thinking about getting my tandem rating. About 6 years ago I had back surgery they trimmed a disc in my lower back I don't have any problems with my back now but was wondering how hard tandems are on your back. The feed back I have recieved locally has been mixed. Thanks for your input. David

Help with digital still cam selection
jedeisurf replied to jedeisurf's topic in Photography and Video
Hi, everyone well I was able to buy Nikon Coolpix 5000 extra battery 256 meg cf card and stroboframe, harbortronics adaptor and bite switch for $550. The camera was used, everything else was new no pony, no spinning straw into gold. All that I had to do is shop around. Now all I need to do is make enough $ to buy a killer Canon setup David -

Kyocera has some very small and light cams in 3,4,5 meg pix that will do 3.3 frames per sec.they are sl300r, sl400r s5r, and m410r might be able to use a air bulb cable release with a custom bracket. Check out www.kyoceraimaging.com let me know what you guys think. Thanks David -

I am looking for a digital cam set up at least 3 meg pix with a wired or wireless remote that can be modified and has the speed for skydiving shooting tandem and freefly. Would like a light weight set up any recommendations. I would like to keep the cost in the $500 range. Thanks David -

Thanks for the input I thought it may be too small but it was a real good deal I think I will stick with my crossfire until I find a great deal on a 99 thanks for the input. Thanks David
-
Yes I have lost some weight I have loaded my crossfire up to around 2.0 my weight varies from 165 lbs to up to I hate to say 200 lbs. Thanks David
-
I have come across a real good deal on a Xaos 21 81 I currently jump a crossfire 1 109. I would like some opinions on if this is too much downsizing at once . Thanks David ps wing loading would be 2.3 compaired to 1.75

I don't have a problem with racers the quick loop makes it easy, and for wings all you have to do is make real big ears. David.

I take 6mg of xanax a day it does not effect my jumping. It is not a pain med but it does slow your response time. I swoop a canopy at approx. 1.8 or 1.9 on every jump it does not seem to effect my skydiving because it is a med that I need. David

I myself, will not pack a rig like that, what I do is offer a reseal and installation free of charge. David -
Your best bet is to have him buy a crossfire or go for the pocket slider worked well on my jedei's David

who has had zero g in a jump ship?
jedeisurf replied to Newbie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
my favirote is when we were going to a demo jump approx 2 hours away we were hiting a lot of turblance one person on the team started bitching about the rough ride and then the pilot hit - g's the pilot then realized that the plane owner and myself had blood coming out of our heads from hitting the roof of the 182 David -
When I buy used gear I will have it shipped C.O.D. just to make sure what is in the box is what it should be. You may tell your buyer that you will not cash the check until their rigger does the inspection. Or you could use a third party escrow service. David

Well I was able to jump this weekend the slider holders worked out fine I used 1" type 17. If I were to do it again I would put them on the front risers. David
