I don't know if you will now have the same experience as me but when I graduated to the Consolidation jumps I found that everything I was doing just got better and better, my technique, form and - especially - my confidence was high. I think it might have had something to do with there being no pressure while under the scrutiny of the instructors so I could just concentrate on visualising what I had to get done on every consol jump and just doing it...and it worked.
And this may be premature to say this at this time but when you do your Lvl 8 at around 5000 ft, don't worry because you've actually got more time than it actually seems. When I jumped I was free-falling for about 7 seconds to ensure stability before I pulled. (So don't rush it.)
And it was a sweet feeling indeed. (I could've cried on that drive back home.)
