  1. AHHHH that's so funny. My best friend in High School and I had a note book we'd use to pass between each other. I found one of the several we filled the other day and had a great laugh rereading them. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
  2. Excuse me, that's what we do here now. I know, but now we have bills to pay __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
  3. Is the majority really fed up with is? Considering shows like "Queer Eye", "Sex in the City" and "Six Feet Under" make money I think more than 2% of the population are watching. They don’t keep TV shows running if there aren’t audiences watching. I hardly consider that cramming a lifestyle down anyone's throat. I do agree with you in that gay people wont get the title "Marred" this time around, but I'm sure a constitutional amendment banning it isn't going to pass. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
  4. You know what I miss? Sitting around all day talking with my friends and writing random dumb notes, goodness I miss those days. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
  5. I agree Paul, why didn't Bush make this a non-issue by just ignoring it? Gore went to war so his daddy could run for president yet he was never in any battles. Of course he can prove he was in Vietnam. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
  6. Ah, if you understand hospital accounting you'd know that it's a 7K helicopter ride for which the insurance co will pay about $700 10K in surgery, more like 30k, for which the ins co will pay about 1k however they will charge 7K and 30K to their income statements __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
  7. Oh that's right I forgot that the government added the "I'm a big homo" box to W-2, which by checking admonishes one from paying taxes. I have yet to meet a couple that got married for financial tax reasons, if there are any let me tell you they are in for a surprise. The issue is equality. I work 300' from the Orange County Recorders office. I could take Yvonne, who sits on my right, over there and be married within 20 minutes. Yet if I wanted to take Brian, who sits on my left, I can't because he's the same sex. That's not an equitable situation. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes

  19. I want to ask this once more. First off, I completely agree with you on the fact that gay parents would provide a different upbringing than a straight couple. Of course I feel that it COULD be better in some situations, there is no hard and fast "lesser" degree in quality of up bringing in gay households. So, because gay parents will provide a different up bringing for a child than straight couples, should gays be prevented to marry? __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
  20. The funny part is that I'm fairly conservative. But anyways, you're saying that gays shouldn't be able to marry because nature has prevented them from reproducing. If a person is born with a disability why should society assist them? Nature has taken away their ability to walk, why should we help them overcome nature? If a woman is born without a uterus that's biological. Therefore that female shouldn’t be permitted to marry? __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
  21. Nature has also prevented paraplegics from walking, should we outlaw wheel chairs? __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
  22. You're absolutely right gay parents are not ALWAYS the best answer. There are alcoholic gay parents, and gays can beat their children too. It's just one answer. Though the options presented by PhillyKev are not a representation of all pregnant women, I think they are more evident that you are assuming. These are problems faced by many pregnant women. HELLO, I'm answering you. I haven't seen anyone correlating gay parenting to the solution of societies ills. It's ONE option; it's not foolproof either. You need to define "quality". I really think my definition of a child that has been brought up in a "quality" home is different than yours. See I'd feel that my child was raised right if he accepted gay parenting. Yet, I assume, you would feel that your child was brought up right if he/she was against gay parenting. I really believe that problem here is that you feel children should be raised that way you see fit. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
  23. I realized that Any sociologists would agree with the idea that men and women are different. It's relatively easy to see the benefit for a child to have influences from both sexes. In your theory because the best household for a child is a man, woman residence all other variations should be prohibited. Now you have said several times here that other households can do a decent job at raising a child. But in the end you return to the fact that society should prevent legal recognition of one lifestyle because it's not the "best" way to raise a child. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
  24. You are correct in assuming that same sex couples raising children will have different tools available to them. Of course, you’re biased stance assumes different=bad. But what your analogy fails to define is what "fully repaired" means. When it comes to fixing my car, it's very easy to tell the difference between "fully repaired" and "mostly repaired". When it comes to children, as you are alluding too, define "fully repaired" or rather what you're hinting at "good" kids. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
  25. I don't think the issue is about what other's think. It's equality, not all gays want to get married. It's simply a matter that if a homosexual feels inclined they should have the ability to marry their same sex partner. The gay couple I know who went to San Fran last weekend to get married could careless what others think. __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes
