With all these fires in So Cal, and having had a good friend loose her house, what do you take with you knowing your house will burn? Let's just say you have a normal car, average size. I'd grab my baby (skydiving rig) CPU for the computer (leaving the accessories) clothes, a little of everything pictures off the walls of family. I have several OLD b/w of my parents and stuff around the house my file box reasonably that's about all that would fit in a standard car, in about a 30 minute evacuation time. You know what I've found, I really don't bother telling non-jumpers that I skydive anymore. I started in High School, so I feel your pain. It did help that my dad started with me. But the best thing to do hang out around the DZ even when not jumping, you'll get to know everyone. There is the packing idea or working for the DZ. I grew up in Lake Arrowhead, which is right near Crestline. My "non-biological" mother's house is gone and so too is my brother's in laws house. I'm sure the house I grew up in will be gone soon, which is really sad because I always wanted to go back and buy that house, I was so mad when my dad sold it! I don’t quite understand your analogy but I am trying. I don’t think the court gave gay people something they deserve. They didn’t give gay’s the right to have same sex sex, they simply removed the states ability to criminalize moral rights. I think a statement such as “insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity” gives right to defend moral inequities.
