Actually, all the IMAX movies are translated into french in Canada. Lots of theatres will run both versions. I saw it first in english at the Museum of Civilization in Hull (near Ottawa) then I ran out, and bought another ticket to see it in french. Just in case you're wondering, it's the same footage Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?

Adenaline Rush is a kick-ass flick. I agree that there is some stuff thrown in there for whuffos and more than likely for financing reasons (all the bio-medical stuff). The Quebec BASE crew (Bert, Mario Richard and the others) did an amazing job in Norway. A friend of mine used to be part-owner of the Athmospahir dropzone and knows those guys well. They're awesome guys and some of the footage (specially the BASE of the movie!) will definitely make you want to arch in your seat. I swear. Apparently they were given a 6-million dollar budget to go jump the fjord in Norway and did something like 400 jumps between them to get the footage... not too bad!!!!! DEFINITELY worth seeing if you get the chance! Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?

I have a great video taken by a camera flyer buddy of mine where he's on the strut of a c-182 looking into the plane when the door is closed. He climbed out just a little before jump run and closed the door behind himand filmed. It was cool because he spotted right from the strut after he filmed us. When he bailed, we opened the door and jumped. Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?

Don't you just hate it when you post an add four times by mistake (while trying to edit it) on DZ.com classifieds and the only way to remove the mistake is to mark the item as "sold"? I'm selling my wife's rig. After alot of soul-searching she decided to end her short-lived skydiving career to focus on raising our son... Honestly, I'm sorta glad. Perspective on life can really change when you're responsible for a little person. Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?

I found a good link: http://my.webmd.com/content/healthwise/47/11750 Lupus (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) Topic Overview What is systemic lupus erythematosus? Systemic lupus erythematosus, or SLE, is an autoimmune disease that can cause inflammation, pain, and tissue damage throughout the body. Although some people with SLE have mild symptoms, it is a chronic disease and can become severe. For most people, ongoing monitoring and treatment can control symptoms and prevent serious organ damage. Only in rare cases does SLE become life-threatening.1 There are five types of lupus erythematosus: systemic, discoid/cutaneous, subacute cutaneous, drug-induced systemic, and neonatal. Systemic (SLE) is the most serious type. There is no known cure for this disease. What are SLE symptoms like? Systemic lupus erythematosus can take a long time to diagnose, because symptoms vary widely, and they come and go. Periods of time when symptoms worsen are called relapses or flares. Periods of time when symptoms improve are called remissions. SLE symptoms rarely disappear completely. The first signs of SLE are usually skin rash (especially with sun exposure), joint pain, and fatigue. Mouth sores, hair loss, or fevers may also be present. Over time, many people with SLE develop neurological symptoms, most commonly migraine headaches. SLE can also affect the kidneys, heart, lungs, or blood cells. What causes SLE? SLE has no single known cause. Experts believe that a combination of factors come together to trigger the autoimmune process. These factors can include genetic predisposition, certain infections and medications, and exposure to environmental elements such as ultraviolet B light, as in sunlight. SLE is most common in women who are in their high-estrogen stages of life, as during the childbearing years.2 While estrogen is thought to strengthen immune system function, it can in turn worsen an autoimmune disease. Estrogen and similar hormones have been linked to SLE, though their role is poorly understood. How is SLE diagnosed? There is no single definitive test for SLE. A diagnosis of lupus is made based on a combination of signs, symptoms, and blood tests. It is easiest to diagnose SLE if you have typical symptoms and your blood tests positive for antinuclear antibodies, or ANA. A positive ANA suggests possible autoimmune disease, but by itself does not confirm a diagnosis of lupus. If your medical history and physical examination don't make a strong case for a particular diagnosis, your health professional can test your blood for other signs of SLE and other similar conditions. How is SLE treated? There is no known cure for SLE. You can control mild to moderate SLE symptoms with proper self-care, such as appropriate rest, exercise, and avoidance of sun exposure. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) or antimalarial medication—such as hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil)—can also help manage symptoms. If you have severe disease, especially if it involves vital organs, your doctor may recommend corticosteroids or other medications, such as azathioprine (Imuran), mycophenolate mofetil (CellCept), methotrexate, or cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan). These medications suppress the immune system and are referred to as immunosuppressives; the latter two are sometimes referred to as cytotoxic medications. This is my baby. 2002 Subaru WRX with AEM intake (waiting on a GReddy turbo-back exhaust) and a few interior mods for looks... RIght now, it's got about 240 HP at the engine, around 200 at the wheels... 0-60 in 5.3 The plan: keep it looking like a "family car" and surprise the crap out of the kids with modified Honda Civics! You rock, dude! I just got diagnosed with MS a month and a half ago. It took alot of soul-searching to get me back up in the air, and hearing stories like yours tells me that nothing is over! I'm glad it's going to be put out there, dude! People need to hear it! Cheers! Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread? -
I had a long post written and then I decided that it was unecessary to have a battle of wits with someone who is unarmed. I'm done with this post. I like most people on this forum, and I'm going to keep believing that people mean well. Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?

Ya know, I was going to ignore this, but silly me, I had to keep reading.... I'm sure most of you guys don't give a flying F#$K but, believe it or not, I'm French Canadian. Born and bred. I didn't speak a word of english until I was 9 years old. I learned to speak the language though and now exist perfectly both in french and english. I speak to my son in french only because I expect him to learn it. I write for work and I can do it in both languages. Honestly, my english grammar is probably superior to most in the office that only speak the one language. Why is that? because I din't speak a word until I was nine, and learned to write in french which is a latin language and much, much more poetically inclined than english. As such, my english is excellent. I'm not a separatist, nor am I the french police. but I love my culture. For that matter. I think it's ridiculous what the Office de la langue Francaise is doing in Quebec. However, it is about preservation of a minority culture who were at the cornerstoone of my country. If you want to know why french is still spoken in Canada (in all ten provinces by the way) check your history books. You'll find that alot of the great things in this country have french people behind it. The ministers speak french in Canada because they understand the one thing my mother and father told me when they sent me, kicking and screaming, to english school. "Learn a second language and you will go alot farther in life." I make $15000 more a year than a guy who has the same job as me because I can speak both languages. So I'm sorry you won't miss french. I'm sure the french won't miss you either when you're serving them "freedom fries" with that. Cheers. Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?

[:)] New skills / What you would like to learn how to do...
Marz replied to airann's topic in The Bonfire
Tormorrow, I'm actually going to be crossing something off my "To do in life" list. I'm going to learn to drive a race car. I mean a REAL race car (CART without the downforce). It's a day-long course and I get to take 30 laps around the track in full gear, hooked up to a radio. It's gonna rawk!!!!! Then I want to learn to scuba dive and I wish I could sing -
Way to go dude!!!!! Thanks for the inspiration. Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?

Thats an enlightened comment :-) He may be a lot that people dont like but I'd have to say that the president is not a "clueless idiot" Either way, the world is a better place without Saddam running the show in Iraq. He was a sadistic, self serving prick and didnt even care about his own people. I dont feel the need for the president to justify what we did. Not to me, anyway. So if I understand this right, it's not ok to call your president a clueless idiot, but it's ok to call Saddam a self-serving prick? I'm not saying I disagree (on both counts, the idiot and the prick) I just want to get this whole patriotic imperialist logic straight. Call me stupid.... I'm a leftist french canadian Marz

For reference, you said "I wave my private part to them, the french. They are one country of the showers puts in bag." Maitrise la langue avant de rire d'un peuple! Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?

Don't get me wrong!!!! I don't feel old in the least, except the warranty on my body seems to have run out this year.... People asked me today what it was like to turn 31, and I said it was like being 18, but with funds to enjoy it. and I'm still all about the mysterious older lady! MILFs rule my fantasy world. I figure i still need to be taught a thing or two.... Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?
