That's an interseting question... For you guys that answered, do you still buy beer on a first? I've done it, because I think it's only fair, but I usually just give $$$ to someone to go get the case and don't necessarily stick around for the party... _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?

Yeah, I sure miss the handcuffs, the holding cell, evictions due to bouced rent cheques, and deep dark two month long period of hellish loneliness cuz everyone that mattered got smart and bailed.... Marz

Today's the day. 8 years! Who'd have thunk it! Life has changed dramatically! Beyond your wildest dreams is right... I'm sure some of you get the reference in the thread title. Feel free to post or PM depending on your preference... Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?
  7. Hey Gerry. Where do you jump? I'm from Ottawa and I jump in Gananoque. I've been to Burnaby quite a few times and planning on going back for the FF festival in July. Cheers! Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?
  8. On a lighter note, I move for a celebrity boxing match on FOX. Sharon's best guy vs. Arafat' best guy, no holds barred. Winner takes all. No bombs, bullets or dead babies. Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?
  9. As I said when I qualified my post, this was a vent. I have a master's degree in sociology with a minor in international relations and political science. I understand that I need to do more research on this. The fact remains that I don't feel Sharon's approach to the conflict is going to pay off. I feel the same way about the Palestinian approach right now. But let's face it, this was about blood and it's only going to draw more blood. I apologize if I offended you, but I felt a very strong reaction when I heard about this for some reason. Bottom line though, as a young generation, we MUST stop our forefathers' pissing contests. It is not our fight. Marz. _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?
  10. OK, This comment might get me in alot of crap but I have to say it because I have been watching this whole Israel/Palestine thing for awhile. This is purely train-of-thought and maybe not based in fact, so don't kill me for it. I just want to get it out. I am in not way supporting Hamas, the PLO or any other palestiinian organiztion nor am I anti-Israel or anti-semitic, but Sharon is a right-wing war-mongering fuckhead. He had the upper hand for awhile in the peace negociations and he pissed it away by pulling shit like this and building a fucking wall aroung his territory. If you're gonna build a wall, dickhead MAKE SURE YOUR PEOPLE ARE WITHIN IT and not camping on someone else's land! My take on this whole thing is not that Israel or Palestine need to go, but I think Sharon needs to get the hell out of there. He's out for blood and trying to flex muscle that he only has because he's the US lackie in the middle east. Man, it pisses me off. Every governement in the world condemns the attack as something that will ignite the powder keg (which I absolutely believe) but the US downplays it. It upsets me to no end. I could go on for hours about this.... I am just so offended by Sharon's moves in the last few years. This to me is the straw that broke the camel's back. This probably makes no sense, which is why i didn't start a thread about it this morning. I'm incensed by that man's lack of understanding. Israel was founded as a refuge for an oppressed people, and now they're putting a wall around it and continously incensing they neighbours. Nopt that's it's new, but he was right on the verge of making peace happen out there. Goes to show that stability might not be in the best interest of all... Flame away, I don't care. Someone might knock some sense into me..... Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?
  11. Quote Call me a socialist pinko commie if you wantQuote I can't belive anyone jumped on that!!!!! Remi, you're a socialist pinko commie!!!!! But you're right. the medication I am presently on costs $21K a year and because of protection laws in Quebec, I pay a maximum of $839 a year... not to shabby!!!!! I'll put up with six month of freezing my nads off for that. Specially that if my nads do fall off, the doctors will re-attach them for free. I just wish the docs could do something about my stretched a$$hole from paying income tax.... Marz

  18. Ok, Ministry side projects: 1000 Homo DJs, Acid Horse (got both of these with my order), Revolting Cocks (or Revco) Skinny Puppy begat Front Line Assembly with Bill Loeb (Bloeb) which begat Delirium. You forgot Pigface (I think). It had guy from Ministry, Skinny Puppy's drummer, and Trent Reznor. It was an experimental thing, they had two full double bass drum kits. It was pretty cool! I saw Ministry in 1990 and Skinny Puppy in 1993 for the Last Rites tour. Fucking wicked stage show for Puppy! Ah.... the days of black clothing, spiky hair and freaky women... Marz

  20. Because I was too much of pussy to fight for it... I was very sick at the end of the year and they based my performance on the last three month's stats, half of which I missed due to sick leave. At that time, I really didn't care. I was just glad I still had a job, but in retrospect I really don't think it was a fair assessment of my performance. This year, I've been trying to get up to par again (I was the no.1 manager in case resolutions in my first year, beating out a seven-year veteran), but I just feel like I've been hanging on for dear life with bloody fingernails... Like I said, it could just be in my head. Everyone here is overworked right now, but I have the great privilege of feeling like crap most of the time. If it's not physical, it's plain depression. Believe me, I'm not necessarily one to whine, but I can't seem to get past this whole illness thing. MS sucks. I'd rather have my leg amputated and hve something tangible to deal with than this bullshit.
  21. So my boss has this brilliant idea to pass the buck on to his employees when it comes time for employee evaluation. Bottom line, we get to write our own. This could be a possibility for a glowing review of my work if I was in the mood to write it, but this is what I feel like writing : "I had a immensley difficult year in all areas of my life and as such, my self-esteem took a shit-kicking, reflecting negatively on my work, which was until recently one thing that was going my way. The added workload and my incapacity to perform at full capacity due to health issues (constant head aches, memory loss, concentration problems) caused me to continue to sink into a quagmyre of dark thoughts, pushing me to the edge of despair on several occasions throughout the year and forcing me to seek professional help. I think my work has been sub-standard, and I have received no feedback, comments or encouragement from my supervisor which might dispell the feeling I have that my ass is on the line everytime I step into the office. Not that I blame upper mangement. This stuff is probably in my head and I'm actually still on the fast track to joining the monkey suits. However, this is how I feel. I went from a prime performer to a gimp in all areas of my life, including work. So fuck it, fire me you bastards. I don't give a shit. I'll just go crawl under the rock in the corner calling my name." Can someon help me turn that into a glowing review so I don't get fucked on my raise for the second year in a row? Thanks Marz
  22. I meant staying at five-star resort but having the option of getting out and seeing your surroundings and not be wholly committed to resort activities all the time. _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?
  23. We're talking leisure travel here Shiznit. I have no problem buying the company line on luxury when it comes to time on the clock!
  24. I am presently cultivating some contacts because I want to change jobs, and one person I spoke to told me that one of his interview questions was always, "when you travel for pleasure, how do you go about it?" and he gave me the options above. Having spend quite a bit of time "sowing my wild oats" and travelling on a budget, I picked the back-pack answer, because I honestly can't stand to be "pampered" surrounded by a bunch of plastic wannabes around a pool... He smiled and told me to e-mail him my resume ASAP.
  25. Well, Aristide was not the first american mistake in Haiti. The US governement had a large hand in getting the Duvalier family into power, and they had to go in and take them out... (Sounds alot like Central America, doesn't it?) Aristide came in with american support and now the US is sorta wiping egg off its face... The problem with doing nothing and letting Aristide fall is that no one has any idea who would replace him. It could very well go from bad to worse. But then again history has shown that outside intervention hasn't really helped either!
