  1. I had an off landing today in an empty cow field. I couldve made it back to the landing field but as I was setting back to the dz I saw another jumper landing off and decided to go land next to them. It sucks making that walk by yourself andI wanted to make sure they didn't decide to break anything on landing. If you have to land off, you have to land off. Sure spotting and flight patterns are usually the biggest problems of landing off but we are all just human and we will make mistakes and that aspect of it will never go away. The best thing we could do like others have said is to respect the land owners and try to butter them up as much as possible to make it right even if they are being an ass. If you decide to get defensive with the farmer it will only make it worse for the next guy that lands there.
  2. I wouldnt say the first time but it was the only time it happened. Then got ragged on a lot for having a shitty canopy
  3. I know it may not be good for a canopy to be washed all the time but when i had a cutaway and my canopy landed in 5 piles of wet cow shit, it was getting washed!
  4. ok, not replying to anyone but had to ask about getting out first on a tracking dive. i thought trackers got out last (except for wingsuiters) because if you were doing a right hand pattern and the plane ended up turning left during jump run you might end up under another group and you would know jump run changed because you were in the plane when it happened. not trying to flame on anyone just asking for educational purposes.
  5. My peraonal opinion is regardless of the technique the count needs to be big enough to be seen and be smooth with no hesitation.
  6. I guess it would also be good to pull your slider down past your toggles before releasing you chest strap? Or making releasing your chest strap the very last thing you do so your handles should all be in the same place while you adjust everything?
  7. Well i would think if you woke up in freefall and looked at the ground you'd already have a clue as to your height and how much time you have. There's a big visual difference between 4000 and 1000 feet.
  8. Awww, i want a velo... Trade you a sabre 135 for it!
  9. Bwahaha, your head was spinning looking for that damn knife!
  10. So im about to buy a digital alti for the canopy stuff. I know alot of people use the neptune but what about the viso2 or the protrack or any others? What kind does everybody like to play with? And dont say eyes, i already own a set
  11. My hard deck is 2500, iy is a little higher than some but i like the extra time it allows if i lose alti awareness or if with all the craziness that a mal can cause i might have a hard time to find my ep handles . Better safe than sorry!
  12. Whoa man! That sucks, sorry to hear about that! Hope you have a quick recovery! Only advice is dont do it again!
  13. Yeah, 20 lbs would make a big difference plus i had a sabre. Those spectre's are a hair slower.
  14. Im a small person too, 5'5" 125lbs, i got on a 135 early on too. They're really fun but be careful! Those 135's hurt!
  15. It is a ex military rig, might need to be updated on the handles though but either way im sure ill figure it out when i start pulling them.
  16. I do want a paraglider but i live on stupid flat ground. Thats why i want to try a really big one, just to see how long i can keep it up!
  17. Hey chuck! Yeah, didnt think about people do in on tandem rigs solo. Also gonna miss the boogie this weekend, yall still owe me a ceremony!
  18. Haha, thats exactly what im looking for!
  19. Haha, yeah i guess that would push my exit weight up to about 160 to 170. Maybe id have to get off jump run or do it at sunset and bring a flash light and a cell phone?
  20. So my exit weight is about 150. I found out my dz has a 365sf sport rig. My question is, whats the lightest wing loading you can get away with in say no winds? P.S. I did do a search, didnt really find anything.
