Have a look at this new GoPro Mount. It allows to quickly change the angle of the camera. An ideal accessory for inside footages in the plane, at the dropzone or in a wind tunnel. http://www.swivit.us I just backed the campaign on Kickstarter.

I agree, but I opened mine and could see a weakness on the mechanical of the instrument: they use glue to stick a small cylinder on the aneroid...

Same for me. they havent' answered to my email. Since, I speak French, I will call them tomorrow to see what's going on.

I broke my altimeter Viplo FT50 yesterday. I opened it and found a small piece of the mechanical altimeter moving in the case. http://i.imgur.com/8pCgERb.jpg I would assume this piece is going in the middle of the Aneroid. https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fichier:Faa_altimeter.JPG Any advice on how should I fix it properly? Do you think it would be accurate after the fix?

Would you please be more specific? I learned at the AAF: absolutely no cutaway below 1000ft. My hard deck is 2000ft. From this I know: - i need to go straight for the reserve if nothing is out (main stuck in the bag or can't find PC...) if when I reach my hard deck. - if I have something out like just the PC I will cutaway and go for the reserve. But what if I have my main open with lines twist I won't be able to fix. Should I really not cutaway if I'am at 1800 feet?
-
I agree. That was the main reason I decided to buy my own gear. And I had only 30 jumps when I ordered it.

This is feasible since I weight 190 and I jump a 170 since my jump 40. However, a 190 will fly much faster than your canopy. A 170 will fly also much faster than a 190. Ask your instructor if you can rent a 190 and do couple of jumps on it. Then when you are comfortable with it, you can try to rent a 170 and see if the canopy is right for you. It's also mandatory to do the Canopy Downsize checklist before: http://www.dropzone.com/safety/Canopy_Control/Downsizing_Checklist_47.html
