I wouldn't call Black Friday a holiday whatsoever. It is (or was) merely the day in the year retailers turned over to a fiscal profit. More than anything, it's a major pain in the ass for employees of those stores that have to be there stupid early or stupid late to prep for it. I'm a Circuit City alum myself. One thing to consider in the differences in gains the last decade in renewable energy is that they are fairly young technologies, so they have much more room to grow relative to "old" non-renewables. Look at the fossil fuels vs nuclear vs renewables in each of their first twenty years or so. Dramatic growth from each as the technology was expanded. Fossil fuels have hit a relative plateau during the time renewables are coming into their own. In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. Pops, RE: US reporting cooler while World reports warmer. If the US's cooler data were taken out, then by the nature of averages, the warmer average of the world would actually be slightly higher. Take for instance the numbers 1,4,5,6. Average them together to 16/4=4. Take out 1... average the last three (warmer temps) 15/3=5. That's how the world still reads warmer temps even tho the sub-climate around the US is cooler. In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. Very true. But do we have a sampling of trees from the last few hundred million year? If the Earth were on a constant warming trend with no cooling periods or proven "ice ages" to balance them out, the planet either started out as an ice ball at absolute zero or is only a few thousand years old and has been warmed due to man's influence. Is my logic wrong? I am not saying we are not in a warming trend, I'm saying it is just that, a trend. A trend that is part of the larger cyclic nature of this planet's ecosystem. Happened to a major NFL star a few years back, Plaxico Burress. He happened to be illegally carrying the gun that shot him in his own leg and spent time (21 months) in prison for carrying that gun without a valid permit. Even money doesn't fix stupid.
