  1. Well sometimes people who don't listen.....after being nicely asked once.........and continue to threaten others with their attitude and actions...... will quickly respond to a simple bunch of fives waved under their nose......... I'm quite solid, ugly, and a good bluffer......and its worked for me several times........... My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
  2. Ah.......yeah.....OK.....your reply tells me lots......'nuff said...... My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
  3. OK then....tell me.....what is this canopy??...Size?..Age?......Material (ZP?, F111?, 1.1 ripstop,...silk?, paper???..). Why jump it if you aren't comfortable with it???.....sounds like a pig to me.... Did anyone of those riggers suggest cutting a hole in the slider????...... My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
  4. I don't think anyone who "chooses" to open at 1K is gonna be around for long...but it can and does happen......and doesn't mean you are gonna die.....hesitations don't automatically happen because you are low either.....a Cypres fire can see a hesitation as well, but Cypresses are set at 750'......shouldn't that be increased if your argument is followed logically?... Every jumper should be able to handle a sticky situation though.....at any altitude..... My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
  5. And a damn good invention it was too.... My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
  6. So why don't you just go to the top and hop'n'pop every time from 15 grand.....just let everyone else know you are doing it....or if you really want some excitement under canopy...take up CRW...that'll get ya goin'..... My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
  7. Saw a picture of a bar graph in a flight safety magazine one time....one bar was "Confidence", the other was "Ability". The "Confidence" bar was higher than the "Ability" bar.....in other words, confidence exceeded ability..... The difference between the two bars was marked "Potential Disaster".... Summed it all up rather neatly I thought...and sums this character up perfectly.... Me, I'd tell him bluntly and forcefully to get his act together....and I would not accept being brushed off either.....especially by someone with only 60 jumps.....call me a safety nazi or whatever....water off a ducks back... Why are people too gutless to say what needs to be said?....but then stand around wringing their hands later...,after the bounce, saying "somebody should have done something...". Much better than picking up the pieces later..... My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
  8. Yeah, well maybe if you are getting out over the top of high ground you need to be aware of that before you exit the plane...and allow for it.... And if you are going to be pulling above 3K... thats fine....but just let everyone else on the load know about it first.....eating pilot chutes unexpectedly is NOT a pleasant experience.... My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
  9. A canopy snivelling for nearly 1000 feet shouldn't be.....have you talked to anyone (like a rigger) about it.....a snivel then a mal is going to catch you out one of these days......I would not be happy having a main that opens so slowly..... My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
  10. I would have NO problem pulling my reserve at 1000 ft, and neither should anyone else if they like living.......in fact I've had a reserve out quite a bit lower than that.....are you suggesting that its somehow dangerous to open a reserve at a grand???....(better than NOT pulling, I'd say) If I wasn't capable of/couldn't handle a baglock/ spiralling mal/ total mal, at 2K, I'd quit the sport.....but handling those kinds of scenarios is why I did a lot of training and maintain things like altitude awareness.....and consciously rehearse my EP's on jumprun every time....and no, I don't rely on an AAD to save my butt either...and I'm quite comfortable with that.... Train for/expect the worst, and you should be able to handle almost anything.....it sounds to me that you are afraid of/don't trust yourself in a sticky situation......so what happens when one day you find yourself in an unexpected situation?.....(lets say in FF at 1200 ft...) And separation after breakoff is not an option...its a necessity.....horizontal is best, but I'll take a bit of vertical if it gets me out of the way of any idiots on the load.....but if there are idiots around, I prefer to stay away from them in the first place.....I try to distance myself on breakoff....but I've had idiots tracking after me and directly above.... And yes, this isn't exactly on topic....but raises some valid points I think...... My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
  11. I said ABOUT 200ft....I just don't have the manual with me to quote the exact figures... I never said that the Cypres had a worse record...its a good AAD...but the FXC is also a good AAD...I just wanted people to recognise that fact...but the way people go on its like the FXC is dangerous....this is not true...and its saved a hell of a lot more people than the Cypress, mainly because its been around a lot longer....and being mechanical, has less things that can go wrong...more rigger friendly as well....having said that I've seen problems with the FXC..(after a factory service by the way)as well as problems with Cypres..I think they have to both be regarded as what they are...a back up device.... With 2 canopies...the best advice is in a biplane, fly with 2 sets of toggles, or none...I agree, if its stable, do not make it unstable... With a side by side...be extremely careful...especially near the ground.....turbulence from thermals, wake turbs, or wind generated can turn it nasty real fast.....would not recommend anything drastic...think carefully and be very careful...especially if you are thinking of turning the canopy..... Have done quite a few test jumps myself...not with solo 2 canopies out though....but I've got a lot of CRW experience...2 ways and bigger...competition rotations and Sequential..... Of course there are exceptions to every scenario...one day you'll get away with something, the next day you might do exactly the same and die.....Just be careful about some of the advice you are reading, thats all I was TRYING to say....and I've got caps lock so I'll use them if I think its important..... A lot of instructors will disagree, thats OK.... my best advice is go talk to and old CRW dog.....many instructors have never done a CRW jump.... So instead of getting stuck into me, accept that maybe I know a few things that are valid....and SOME people DO write rubbish!!. So there!!!.....:-) My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
  12. Right, listen carefully, I shall say this only once... IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT....SAY NOTHING.......OK!!!!!......Some of you are completely misinformed..... Firstly, there is nothing wrong with a FXC 12000...it is most reliable, and was just doing its job because of a low dump....it is accurate to about 200 feet......Cypres have made a real propaganda job on FXC......one of the best AAD's ever invented, with a hell of a good track record that Cypres can only dream about.... Secondly, with a biplane configuration main/reserve, the best and safest way to fly it, is by picking up BOTH sets of toggles and flying it as a normal biplane...as CRW workers do in a biplane quite easily.... if you mess with only one set of toggles there is a REAL risk of a downplane = DOA..... Thirdly, with side by side configuration, disconnect RSL and chop the main..... Goddam, some people write absolute rubbish....would be amusing if it wasn't so bloody dangerous......twitchy FXC's, canopies running over each other, playing with one set of toggles gently, playing with risers.....TOTAL, UTTER, NONSENSE!!!... So there!!!.
  13. Then I really don't think it was necessary for them to say so publicly in the first place, and it seems to have been a bit silly of them to have done so.....They could have looked at that angle, even to eliminate that possibility, without causing further distress.... Somebody knows.....
  14. Hey guys...I reckon this is going a bit over the top....unnecessary??....don't need to get too deep into this line....do we?? My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
