Well my first set of wheels was a 1978 VW Rabbit - still the one made in Germany, and what a set of wheels it was!!! The thing had a 1,600 cc, 70 HP engine, a 4 gear stick shift. There was not much body left on it and after my bud walked through the passenger side floor I had to steal one of my Mother's baking pans and rivet it in. You still had to lift your legs while I was driving through water. I had a German licence plate in the front (PA allows you that) and it was GL-KP 915. It was a funny little thing. There always was a load of empty beer cans and bottles on the back seat. I was once clocked doing 120 mph by a PA State Trooper - I convinced him he got the wrong person: After all my car was 12 years old and had such a tiny engine I had more cars that I care to remember since, but that one I will love forever! jraf
