  1. Depends - the International roots will be more important than the US electoral cycle. At the moment it looks like Europe, the US and China are going to have a 3 way 'hard landing'. Horray!!! ? A hard landing is a hard landing. Lots of unemployment and tough times looking likely for many years to come. It would be hard for a global grassroots counter movement not to thrive in such times.
  2. This would be Zimmerman's frame of reference. Being black Trayvon would be immediately identified as a latent killer. Zimmerman would have to shoot first. Just bait and shoot. Easypeasy.
  3. Income inequality in the US has grown. The Gini Index, which measures income inequality, increased by 1.6% to a score of 0.477 in 2011. Though few other countries have yet produced figures for 2011, that number for the US shows a more unequal economy for America than the 2010 figures for countries like Uruguay, Argentina and Bangladesh. Within the figures there was also an increase in the share of aggregate income for the top 20% of Americans of 1.6% and – within that group – the top 5% saw a jump of 4.9%.
  4. The part where he was slamming his head against the ground might have been a better indication. Not the bit where Zimmerman (with a previous history of violence - serial killers rarely start off 'cold') chases down Trayvon to confront him?
  5. We all know that serial killers are white not black. but we also know blacks are far more likely to commit murder. Now you're thinking like Zimmerman. No, just citing the DoJ, rather than making shit up like you do. http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/homicide/tables/oracetab.cfm So, according to Zimmerman's logic, Trayvon was black so about to murder him. That's why he had to shoot first.
  6. My theory is testable. Let him go and wait for him to kill again. Theory then proved. You're going to have a much harder time proving Trayvon was a serial killer.

  9. ??? Are you serious? If he gets away with his first murder he'll go for a second. How did you come to this conclusion? That's how serial killers operate. Yeah, he's already up to "1". (Hey ...even Ted Bundy had to start somewhere.) The next time his 'self defence' alibi will be even easier as everyone would expect him to be attacked. He'll be paranoid and well armed. He'll still have a thing about black guys. He'll have a sense of grievance about the time he's spent in prison but elation that he's finally got away with it. Just a little patience and he can make sure he gets himself into a situation where he can bait and murder again. He'll also almost certainly escalate to a double or triple murder just to show how 'outnumbered' he was. OK, I think you win for most vivid imagination in this thread. You're obviously not counting the ones who think he's innocent.
  10. Does she run them, or does she just sit there as the lucky person who inherited them and lets others do all the lifting? She's busy eating. A fulltime job for her.

  12. 10X harder when the movement has no fucking clue what it's trying to do. Staying alive and growing is a pretty good first move. Still a while before the movement flowers. so 2016, maybe? Depends - the International roots will be more important than the US electoral cycle. At the moment it looks like Europe, the US and China are going to have a 3 way 'hard landing'.

  16. Even if he's found not guilty of this murder it's only a matter of time before he kills again.
  17. The first year of a new grassroots movement is always the toughest.
  18. How about a flat rate inheritance tax - say 25%?
  19. Penalties for growing and selling cannabis must be toughened because a surge in the trade is driving up shootings and gang-related violence, a senior police officer has warned. Assistant Chief Constable Andy Ward of Merseyside police, who chairs the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit, says the punishments for those caught cultivating and dealing in cannabis are not a deterrent and the drug is now causing greater problems for police than class As. According to Ward, an "explosion" in cannabis production has resulted in bitter struggles between rival gangs keen to exploit the ease by which cannabis can be manufactured and what they regard as easy money. Shootings in Merseyside have soared by a third since April and officers believe their experience is mirrored across the regions. Ward, who also heads the force's elite Matrix unit that works to combat drug and gun crime, said: "A lot of these shootings are linked to activity around cannabis. "We are seeing big increases in cannabis production on Merseyside. Individual groups are fighting turf wars … We have huge issues around cannabis."
  20. more than the vast majority of its participants. Despite having a job. They're smelly - but they also have jobs.
  21. Like Romney's sons with their unearned and untaxed income. Are you saying it's illegal or are you simply jealous? They're mooching off the system - are you not concerned?
  22. You've obviously put a lot of thought into the OWS.
  23. Like Romney's sons with their unearned and untaxed income.
  24. Romney wants to greatly increase dynastic wealth by eliminating the estate tax, which would have a devastating effect on future economic growth, entrepreneurship and social stability. His plan would retain the gift tax, but it is already so porous that, as Reuters reported in January, the five Romney sons enjoy tax-free income from a $100 million trust fund on which no gift taxes were paid. Only about $2 million could have originally gone into the trust without triggering gift taxes.
  25. Slashing tax rates, keeping the share of income taxes paid by the top unchanged and increasing military spending without any additional red ink may win votes from innumerates, but it is a mathematical impossibility. What is a mathematical certainty is that Romney would cut taxes on the rich and that everyone below the top would get a lot less back in services from the government.
