Hey, what's the name of the reinforced sewing that connects the lines when they have cascaded? It's usually a grey line of thread. What's that section called?

this article is great, but uses many unknown, explained terms for the novice jumper, like me. what exactly is the roll axis, yaw axis, yaw energy? i think this article will suddenly become much clearer if i had a definition for these terms:)
