I’m curious about their history of use on any canopies and why we stopped using them. Also curious if they offer any sort of advantage in the BASE environment where they are making a comeback. Well not necessarily a comeback because they weren’t used in BASE before.
-
Do you know why we stopped using them?

The reason i ask is because this is fairly new https://squirrel.ws/equipment/base-jumping/accessories/hayduke-6g-slider/

Looking for some history on this. Who made them, Who used them, and Why did they stop?

less testosterone and more dust. Two c182s tho he’s looking at a 206. One pilot-bill- stretch and john died Greg and bob metz aren’t interested in flying 182s. Rigger matt died this winter. 0-5 tandems on a given Saturday. Its not the Lodi it was 10 years ago. $10/3k & $25/10k unless theres tandem on the load then its 12k. $150/tandem and $30 of that for the TI. Bunk house is still there but no longer $10/night. Couple turtles in the pond now. swooping isnt back on but ya know bills in the plane if ur under canopy. I did a 4 way angle there in April or May. Word on the street is the DZ or whats left of it is for sale but don't quote me. Really its been like this for a couple of years, but perhaps no one told the legendary jaybyrd.
