  1. I’m curious about their history of use on any canopies and why we stopped using them. Also curious if they offer any sort of advantage in the BASE environment where they are making a comeback. Well not necessarily a comeback because they weren’t used in BASE before.
  2. Do you know why we stopped using them?
  3. The reason i ask is because this is fairly new https://squirrel.ws/equipment/base-jumping/accessories/hayduke-6g-slider/
  4. Looking for some history on this. Who made them, Who used them, and Why did they stop?

  6. Got any pictures or videos?
  7. less testosterone and more dust. Two c182s tho he’s looking at a 206. One pilot-bill- stretch and john died Greg and bob metz aren’t interested in flying 182s. Rigger matt died this winter. 0-5 tandems on a given Saturday. Its not the Lodi it was 10 years ago. $10/3k & $25/10k unless theres tandem on the load then its 12k. $150/tandem and $30 of that for the TI. Bunk house is still there but no longer $10/night. Couple turtles in the pond now. swooping isnt back on but ya know bills in the plane if ur under canopy. I did a 4 way angle there in April or May. Word on the street is the DZ or whats left of it is for sale but don't quote me. Really its been like this for a couple of years, but perhaps no one told the legendary jaybyrd.
  8. Someone once tried convincing me that SL BASE jumps werent BASE jumps and that SL skydives isn’t considered skydiving its Parachuting. So technically one could have heaps of SL skydives and SL BASE jumps but still not be a considered a skydiver or BASE jumper.
  9. Was reading this- https://mcusercontent.com/e8fc934d6d96baf0579c77a10/files/1c1e851a-1df4-3cba-3cb5-1a3d66965c9c/wss_2022.pdf - the 2022 world skydiving statistics Australian Parachute Federation and got to thinking about the first tandem fatalities. was curious curious who knows the history, where the first incidents were, what happened etc. The earliest i could find was the Coors Demo double fatality in Perris 1988
  10. Just heard that Colorado Mountain skydiving and out of the blue skydiving In Colorado have both closed down.
  11. a great list by the sacramento bee. Would be interesting to see a simple list like this but for every DZ or at least for every tandem fatality. https://www.sacbee.com/news/investigations/article282563978.html
  12. Bay area skydiving has a bunkhouse bathroom and kitchen like area and will hire pretty much anyone at least once or twice. Same with Lodi. good luck!
