I use automotive paint as well. If you use a candy color (transparant) then the carbon fiber look will show thru with the color you desire. Also the candy deepins the look of the carbon fiber and makes it look really cool in the sun. You can also add some metal flake to a coat under the candy a light dusting will make it shimmer in the sun. I have painted a couple of carbon fiber helmets this way and they look awsome. Auto paint is much more durable then model or hobby paint. and a good clear coat will save a helmet from needing repainted as often form the abuse we put them thru. CHris

Jump #21 - 1st jump on BOC from ripcord. exited at 4,000 ft went to reach, rolled on my back and noticed my pilotchute wrapped around my leg as I'm on my back. I grab the pilotchute and give it an opposite toss. I'm flipping head over heals then have a canopy at 2,000ft w/ ALOT of line twists but its flying straight. Kick out and turn toward the DZ and land. My brother-in-law watched me exit and thought that was it. I slowed down after that and took the time to learn more before I attempt it. Chris

Oh I completely agree that we are human and we all make mistakes. I have made mistakes in this sport and consider myself lucky. On my 21st jump - first jump on a BOC system - I exited on a hop and pop. went unstable as I deployed and found myself on my back w/ a pilot chute between my legs. I grabed the pilot chute and threw it into clean air. after my canopy rited me , 5 line twists , and a leg strap up around my knee. It hit me hard how 1 little mistake can take you out. I have made alot of other mistakes and I'm positive that I will make plenty more. I just hope I am lucky then too and handle the situation right. Chris

I'm suprised Val did not know this. Is her inventory of the river slipping? I suggest she start over and please refrain from posting your final numbers Chris

My feeling is that this sport is one of "no mistakes and zero tolerance" You must be completely confident of you actions because if you are not and can not make the right decision at the right time. Then Luck must be on your side. Mistakes are what takes 90% of our friends from us in skydiving. I feel sorry for the families of the people that die from these types of accidents. But I sometimes think that maybe it was not meant for them to be in this sport. This is a extremly deadly sport when you get complacent or cocky!! If you walk away or are carried away from an accident and live to talk about it consider yourself lucky and rethink the value of your life to your family compared to skydiving. I have watched people "hook-it in" and after the accident when they are watching video there first comment was "Damn I was way too low." Ya no shit maybe that is why you smacked the ground. I am truly saddened when something happens to someone who handled their situations in the correct way. For instance the students who died when their harness systems failed causing their deaths. We all place or total faith in our equipment manufacturers. But when they fail on occasion (and they will they are only human) the tragidy is when it takes a skydivers life for everyone of us to be safer in the sport we are so passionate about. I will honor these people for saving my life every jump. Also when someone's life ends due to someone elses mistake like canopy collision, freefall collision etc... These are risks we take in the sport and I know that but when someone almost drills in and looks back at it like it is no big deal. Keep this person out of the air with me because I don't want his mistake to kill me. Don't get me wrong I will still give the decessed the respect they deserve. And will be saddened by the thought of not having them around in my life anymore. But if they made mistakes that led to their death it will be different then if they did everything right and still passed away. I am a firm believer that everyone has a time. And when my time is up my time is up. No matter if it is skydiving, riding my motorcycle, walking across the street or laying in bed when I am called I must go. Blu-Skyz forever Chris If I have offended anyone I am sorry but this is how I have learned to deal with the losses I have encountered in my life. I remember one time there was about 200 sheets of drywall that needed unloaded and carried in the hanger. Roger just walked around and said "Hey I need some help with something do you mind?" We were all like sure - no problem Roger. It was not until we got out side and seen what he needed help with did we relize we were had. Roger was good at that Chris

Ya the last time we brought them down the oldest was 9. When asked what he did on his summer vaction his reply was something about a seeing a golf cart of naked people getting ready to jump out of a Bell 412. We got a note home about that one. Well you see Mrs.xxxx there is this place called Quincy where skydivers go and... ahhhh forget it you wouldn't understand. Call whatever athoritys you want and lets get this over with. Chris
