  1. Man I have a had a couple of canopies that I had to work out the openings so I know what you feel, and you can fix this..... 1. YOu can put a bigger slider on it but only very slightly.. It cannot be too big but maybe a 1 inch or 1 and a 1/2 inch larger BUT no larger.. To be honest I dont really know the tech of the reason why but you just cant.. 2. Pocket sliders can cure almost anything!! The thing is that, they can slow it down way to much and it may take 2500ft to open if you put one on too big.. You have to have a rigger that is cool and will make multiple pockets for your slider to help you find the right opening.. this method will work!! still you have to go through a process deploying at terminal.. 3.one thing I learned while jumping a NItron canopy.. I could not get the opeings to calm down or slow down. they were spanking me violently left and right.. so I kept rolling the nose and tail testing all types of ways to slow the canopy down while opeing.. but the thing is I had a guy tell me that I wasnt letting the slider do its job for the canopy.. the canopy would take too much time to open so the slider comes straight down the lines and when the canopy does open BAM your neck hurts like hell, I mean this all happens in a split second but it IS occuring inthe process of how a canopy opens.. the canopy had to open quicke enough to put tension on the slider grommets to absorb the opeing shock but my slider kept coming down before the canopy could open bec i rolled a canopy that doesnt need to be rolled.. some are made to be packed like that...anyways on that NItron all of my problems went away immediately.. it was awesome.. Make sure that this isnt happeing to you..ask a couple of other heatwave owners... but still this may not work...I could not do this with my old Jedei.. Man the pocket slider will work!!!
  2. My dealer says to get a ball park number for a used canopy you take off something like 1.50$ for every jump the canopy has... but then once there is so manyjumps on a canopy then it is just how much is the particular canopy worth to you...
  3. yo man I got a huge melon... and a lot of freaking hair.. I have a Aviator that is XXL and it fits perfect.. my head is slightly larger than 25" and man it fits better than anything else outhere other than my RAWA..and I have tried them all.. You can also use the Ion's and velcity's from action air sports I think is their name in Davis Cali.. I had one and used multipe liners and eventually got it to fit perfectly... so man they are out there and they will fit.. just keep looking.... and trying them on which is your best bet.. that is the only way that I could find the ones I like and use..
  4. IF you look at the specs on the pd113R it is not much less than the 281.. why are some of the same size reserves TSO'd at lower or higher weights than others???......(the same size ones anyways)
  5. Both my Microns are similar to that yes... you will see that closing it too tight will slightly effect the way the container looks when closed but does not effect function... One good thing about this is that the V3's are able to handle different size canopies without missing a beat with the length of the closing loop...
  6. What happens if we only have a hotmail account...damnt man!!!!
  7. Just so you Know.. I own a 306 and a 308.. The 308 is the short and fat one, the 306 is the one that is narrow......308 has the 126R...
  8. Man I would like to say that almost all of my trips are skydiving oriented.. Unless I am going to Europe (and even then sometimes) or snowboarding.. To be honest with you I can skydive at countless and countless places around the USA and do things that I would not be able to do anywhere else.. SO what you need to do is make it special is BEACH JUMPS... I am not gong to travel all the way to Jamaica to jump at another airport!!!!..(sorry mate I am just being honest) Granted the views might be masterful from the air but none the less I dont pay attention to the surroundings after the first jump.. I want to make such a trip and do something that is not readily available at all the boogies that I attend.. Hence the beach jumps.. there are not really any available place in the US that you can show up and jump the beach all day long....jump after jump... If you provide beach jumps with easy access to packing and take off areas so people can make 7 or 8 jumps on the beach in a day is where you are gong to get fun jumpers traveling to the Island to jump. Honestly fun jumpers, if staying for say 5 days are only going to want to jump half of the days.. These guys and girls are going to want to make full days of jumping and not just 3 jumps onto a seemingly ordinary airport for five days and come home with 15 jumps and have done nothing around the Island. These people might make this trip once but will not come back... The skydivers that are going to come and spend money on the Island are gong to want to make those 15 jumps in 2 or 2 and a half days and spend the other time on the Island doing other fun things... this is something that will make them come back... and being easily accessible from the US they will if motivated by the right forces Man you have to make it SPECIAL.. You have to have something like BEACH jumps all the time and make it so that it is not a hassle for you or the jumpers... Also taking note of what some of the New Zeland (spelling?) crowd is doing is offering complette packages through the DZ.. ALmost acting as travel agents and events organizers.. Example: If 4 people want to come make jumps for a couple fo days, stay at a 4 room bungalow, scuba dive, and rent a boat for a day it wouold be really attracting and easy for jumpers to be able to call the DZ and list what they would like to do and have a visitors event organizer for them that can book outside events for them... that is something that will make them come back again... Empuriabrava in Spain (or Catalognia....spelling?) has a office like that on the DZ and man it helps the visiting jumpers an awful lot...
  9. Call J Mike Brown at Pier Ltd and American SKydiving Systems.... He owns and operates both of them...look in parachutist.. When dealers are looking for stuff, he is always on their lists to call.. he has everything and anything you could want.. he will also give you the best price anywhere, unless buiying from and individual.. I am sure of it...
  10. freestylers can do anything better than everyone else, because all they do are solos!!!... slackers...
  11. dude my opinion might not mean much but I get so much more out of a Sabre2 120 than I do a Stilletto 120.. I mean almost 25 to 35 yards more.. the dives on the Sabre2 are just more advanced by technology to have the ability to be pushed harder for more than the Stilleto... I would stay with the Sabre2 but smaller until you go to something more like the Katana, if you are staying PD.. I think that the Stilleto will put the abilities of your canopy behind the newer designs of canopies and schools of thought on HP landings out there.. But Stilletos are cheap.. I will give them that..
  12. I am one of the fools that had no one around that knew what the hell they were talking about.. everyone flew triathalons, and literally knew nothing except how to say "dont do that"...the analytical mind as I am I could not accept this as the only way to fly a canopy, but there was this one guy who had a Diablo and hook turned the shit out of it all the time.. I thought it was so cool back in the day.. so i started radical landings early because no one knew anything so I experimented from about 100 jumps on with 180's to 360's before 200 jumps.. But I am one lucky SOB, because I got to start traveling and learning whats tight and right ways of canopy landings.. but I dodged some bullets then.. and saw alot of high and mighty people get hurt... it is amazing what knowledge can do..
  13. No I dont think that they are bring made.. I believe that a school of thought is that inflation to acieve a certain goal might be inconsistant or unreliable at times.. YOu just need to substitute technique instead of tricky suits...
  14. FYI since all you guys kind of live close by there is 10$ jumps the following weeekend at Gold Coast. 60 miles away for Mardi Gras.. Two planes, super king air and an otter..10$a jump.. all four days... Feb 5-8th
  15. We better watch it, it might not be such a MINI Boogie... Guys you think Mullins Plane is fast.. it is only neck and neck with this Atlanta plane of Trey's..
  16. Abundant amounts of organizers.. You need people to organize everyone to some respects. Low skilled and especially the higher skilled.. Even if you have to have ten organizers, it will more than enough to compensate their free slot..(they just really have to be a personable character).. What seperates good boogies from run of the mill is the organizers. I love when there are so many organizers that groups form and organizers stick together with those groups and turn out great dives initiated by the organizer.. People loved to be organized by great people. No matter what they say.. Plus whe you have groups formed there is someone taking tickets and manifesting hence keeping the people and plane up in the air and time between loads low, equaling more money through the office.. If you can keep everyone organized by great personalities, it will always be one of the best boogies to attend.. and all the coolest dives will happen there.!!!!!! those are now the only boogies that I will attend!! YOu got to have cool people, not skygods but just plain ole fun organizers to push the skill of the people attending.... Man you can have the crapiest beer, bathrooms, food, and music but if everyone has so much fun during the jumping hours then you will have them there again..
  17. Still un answered question from previous post:::: Is this an actual beach boogie that provides transportation to and from the beach all day or what? Or do we just jump at the DZ and drive to the beach at the end of the day??? anyone got any info???.. Shit I am already coming!!!
  18. I have driven 14 hours for a boogie before.. I actually did two 10 hours and two 12 hour trips this past year.. At the last minute it sometimes is just easier and cheaper to drive than fly..
  19. SInce this is going to be a FloraBama invasion I am expecting this to be a beach boogie? SO that means there is going to be transportation provided from the beach to the DZ? Do I get to jump the beach all day both days or just a beach load at the end of the day kind of thing?.. If i have missed the answers to this in earlier post I am sorry.. I will look again..
  20. SOny DCR-PC9--1000+jumps.. not even a glitch.. SO good it actually got stolen while traveling in Europe(some sorry Bastard in a hostel)..
  21. Dude Canon Makes a 15mm fixed lens that ROCKS for freeflying.. I am not sure about tandems but if youwant to get (SHots while you are in the formations) in freeflying you get everyone around with it, feet to head. You do have to be pretty close if shooting outside video and stills, but i like to be in the mix of things when taking shots anyways. it is a little over 300$ but man it is good.. semi-fisheye. You cant really notice though..
  22. Man go with the Sabre2. i dont really have an argument for the canopy against others.. I just like the nine cells and the flying characteristics are great w/ the sabre2.... It does open funny at first until it breaks in and until you let the canopy fly its own opening.. but your canopy will be big enought that it is not going to get mad and dive violently to the ground.. Get the Sabre.. plus they have incredible resale value... I dont care what anyone else says but they will resale the quickest....
  23. Will do, I will give a friend a call down at Lake Whales in the next couple of days to get the schedule of events.. I know the time that I did compete in it it was on I think the 29th or the 30th so I will get the low down..
  24. If the rounds are on that SUnday Monday or Tuesday then I will be that Bueller you are looking for.. I think that I still meet the qualifications.. But I leave for Utah on the 30th...
  25. You can jump there as long as you are not trying to break any ankles.... like you were is Elsinore trying to impress a whole bunch of chicks.......
