  1. I agree.. some canopies you have to let the slider do its job.. The past two canopies I jump regularly a Jedei and a Nitron would smack the crap out of me when I would roll the nose. The canopy would take too much time sniveling and the slider would come down the lines then bame the canopy would open and hard. But once I stopped rolling the nose the canopy would open quicker causing tension for the slider to do its job and I never had a hard opening again on wither of the canopies..
  2. As skyjuggler says.. RAWA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is nothing out there better and more comfortable.. and the price is better than any other on the market.. Plus they look cool as hell. Like a camera helmet should look...
  3. thanks guys.. I have a couple of his standard six foot but I didnt know he made a longer one.. I will call and get one from him...
  4. Guys I did a search and could not find the info I wanted... Who carries the best 9ft bridle? I havent called any suppliers yet.. Thank you
  5. Hookitt Yea to be honest I mainly just roll the nose to keep the canopy under control .. I have been jumping a really picky canopy before I got my velocity so with my previous canopy and now my velocity I am making sure the canopy is symetrical on both sides and slid into the bag evenly I have yet to have anything but a great opening.. I mean that they are made to open nicely but when you pack them out of wack then you get wacked (at least my experience) ..SO just rolling the nose is just being cautious until the canopy can be controlled while packing the slippery f*#ker..
  6. Aggie Dave, I recieved this booklet about the same size as that ram air booklet.. This booklet was basic education of the Velocity.. It went through a whole spill about flight characteristics and everything to packing.. I think that the same info is on the PD website... Cowden, I have been rolling the nose because a friend of mine at my DZ recieved a new Velocity and it was spanking his ass with in his first 200 jumps on it.. But my openings have been great so for as well....
  7. On the packing instructions for the Velocity PD claims that rolling the nose into itself is the proper technique for the Velocitys....
  8. So webracer you think that it is just something i need to get used to huh? Thats cool.. I have just been used to jumping a slider that had very large gromets so I wasnt sure what, if anything was uncommonly out of place... I think that the way I have been routing my excess line back to the pin and stowing the excess with my pin is the reason why my risers seem so bulky to the gromets.. Well they are the new true lock risers I just couldnt remember what they were called for my original post.. Thanks guys for the info.. I should be able to work things out this weekend with it.. Cheers..
  9. Guys my Velocity's slider from PD has very small gromets.. I am having a hard time pulling them past my toggles on my brand new RWS risers.. Has anyone ever had this problem? The fit is so tight that I have to use both hands on each riser because I fear that I will pop a toggle in the middle of stowing my slider.. Is this just a common occurance.. or am I just being a little paranoid about it? WIll PD send me a new slider with larger gromets?.. I havent had this new canopy for more than two weeks..
  10. Guys and girls what are conversion lenses? For a mini DV camcorder (specifically my PC-9) I did a search of this forum and couldn't find the answer.. I was looking through the B&H catalog and the conversion lenses are considerably cheaper than most lenses on the market.. Is there some type of blackening that occurs when using these lenses andn do you have to zoom in or what? What is the catch because they have a couple of .3's for like $40 in their catalog that I just recieved, maybe they are just cheap off brands?.. Any advice..
  11. The Wal-Mart sister store Sam's Club.. Man you cannot beat the prices they give anywhere!!!..... If you buy DV tapes they are like $3 each. But I am not sure about the batteries for Rebel G..
  12. Take a three way accordean (spelling ?) out liked first then do the exact same thing unlinked... Taking it out linked you should not have any resistence hence when you take it out unlinked then the same slots will be flown.
  13. I have never had any coach jumps.. I feel that I can pretty much do anything now with freeflying.. Not perfect but at least in real solid control.. 900 jumps or so.. the only way I ever had to learn was through video and just jumping with homez.. having fun!!! I did spend a two month period last year, that I jumped maybe 6 times a day and after that was the real turning point in my skill all the doors opened after that!!............
  14. Man go to a taylor.. It will be cheaper and you can try it on in front of them for specific alterations and it wont cost more than twenty bucks.. I had a local taylor work on mine and they reconstructed the whole suit because it just was the wrong size. Remember suits are just fabric and seams.. Tony suits will do nothing more than a taylor will do and you get personal touches with talking with the person doing them locally......
  15. Yes I would like to know aswell or maybe even a picture first.. For a PC-9 or better yet a Cannon Rebel..
  16. Are you sure that it is the canopy? Have you had another canopy in that harness? Have you hooked it up to another harness to see? I had a harness that was not symetrical from the factory and it caused a slow drifting turn.. They fixed it but for months I thought it was the canopy and couldnt find anything wrong with it.. As far as your actual questions I know nothing!!Sorry!
  17. To be honest you are going to have to relax and try to have fun no matter how bad you think you are doing.. You will only progress if you have a good time doing it.. It is so much about feeling it.. You are going to have to jump twice as much as you already have to just get the basics.. It is not a quick learning process.. Flying headdown is a long process that takes dedicaton to fun and progression. I hate to rain on you but it takes a while.. Everyone that can fly headdown will tell you that. I have almost a thousand jumps and my level is just now at a point that I can soflty and quickly close a 4way round in any position, horizonal, vertical, and inverted. Just dont give up!! Believe it or not you learn every time you do a jump..It is just that there is SOOOO much to learn....
  18. I went to a eliptical at around 250 jumps.. Crossfire 129 @ 1.7:1.. Every thing went down hill from there. Concentrated heavily on canopy control, trafic patterns, and fundamentals of landings.. I have never gone back to a square.. and I dont plan on it...
  19. Also my friend just found the problem with his consistant line twist resulting from a faulty slider that was uneven in its manufacturing so when the slider was tossed it wouldspin up while deploying the canopy and resulting in spinning th canopy into line twists.. SO have someone go over your slider to make sure that it is OK too.. just in case..
  20. There are a group of women that call themselves the Pink Mafia www.thepinkmafia.com I dont know how to make it go clicky If you attened the boogies that these girls go to they will for sure entertain you and the skill level they posses will really help you.. I see that you are from Sebastian... One of the founding members wll be moving to Melbourne at the end of June and will jump alot at Sebastian.. So check out there website an.(events schedule) Seriously!!!!drop Brooke,Alli, or Melanie an email and these girls will keep you rolling on where to go for good times, good skydives, and a way to meet everybody at a boogie. Tell them I sent you. You wont be dssapointed.. The organization was formed only three months ago for the pure reason for girls like you to get a chance to meet other girls to travel and skydive together..
  21. What you should be doing is having FUN.. Screw egveryone else if they dont like what you are doing.. But my suggestion would be to find a friend.. SOmeone at your level and just jump with them.. If people see you having fun with someone else all the time then they will then want to jump with you... Skydiving is about jumping with your homez.. Dont care about ratings or what you should be doing if you dont gain the fun of skydiving with the fun of friendships then you should be doing something else... Jump alot with who ever is your friends...that is all you need to do...
  22. RAWA'S ARE THE BOMB GUYS!!! I have one and they fucking rock... The time it takes them to make and ship to you all depends on the color you want and camera you have.. I got a stock color of white and PC-9 box on it and it only took the company 2 weeks to get in into miami and then customs held it for like a week before it got actually shipped to my house again.. I repeat RAWA'S ARE THE BOMB. If you put one on that fits you, you will understand why.....they are custom made..
  23. Man every Jedei will open differently!! I have one tht opens quickly to hard if I am not careful. I have seen some that rap up consistantly.. You will know through just a few jumps how that particular Jedei will open.. But generally most open really well.. But I dont like a lot of snivel incase I need to go low for some reason..
