I have scotchguarded every suit I have ever had.. Really I have only had two but it works wonders and really makes a difference, because I have a white one and our laning area is almost considered wetlands. But you still have to wash it that night or as soon as you can.. also use some type of presoak before washing along with the guard and you can get anything out, Almost.. . It will not affect you material in any way as far as the amount of drag and stuff.. I really suggest you use it especially on the legs and but for they are the most dirt accesable areas...

Cannon Rebel Lenses, where to buy?
cheneyneel replied to cheneyneel's topic in Photography and Video
I have a cannon Rebel EOS G Does anyone know of places that sells wide angle(17mm 19mm) lenses cheaply. the local camera store has lenses 19mm for around $260 and he says he cant do much better for me.. Ebay has not been much help either.. I got the camera for nothing and trying not to break my self on lens for only my first still camera... It has a 28mm lens on it should I just jump it if I cant find a wider angle? How should you fly (mostly all freeflying) with such a narrow angle lens.... Also can anyone give me recomendations on swithces for it(bite, push what ever) I dont know anything really about switches...thanks guys and girls for any help you can give.. -
Man when you get into the new riggs lke WIngs Javelin ,mirage,Vector.... It all become preference.. They all rock and I woud own and jump them all..I actually think thatI am going to go with Wings on my next rig As far as stainless well.. I own a Vector Micron and I recieved nickel hardware on mine for no extra charge and I am so happy that I didnt spend th money on stainless with ths hickel option(they offer nickel, and powdercoat at no extra charge only stainless cost extra).. and it looks great and has held up apperances beautifully BUt if all you have is stainless or powder coating then you have to make the decision on wether you want shinny or not.... Go with what you can afford my brother.. Also an get the small rings.. You will be glad you did.. I am 215lbs without gear an you know that they will hold all day long... Also if you want to check out another dealer American Skydiving Systems offers 35% off all containers.(in parachutists). This company is also the parent company of Pier LTD. that s always in parachutists if you want to check around some more because of price..

Hey man what ever you decide to get on the BOC situation make sure you get the new hanlde they offer instead of the hackey.. Their freefly handle rocks and you will be glad you did no matter how you fly it is just safer.. .. If you dont know it is the same handle as a PUD system but it is a throw out just a pillow handle instead of a hackey...

yea color dosent matter but I like to have mine bightly contrasting against my jump suit.. We have all heard that old story of a experienced jumper not able to find their reserve havent we??!! My jump suit and harness/container is white, yellow and blue.. My webbing on my harness is yellow..SO I went with the standard red for both..

once you really start to get annoyed by having so much to do to get the camera out to watch.. Maybe at the top were you have the two screws you can put a swing hinge (like on cabinet doors) so that you only have one screw that keeps the box down... That is how my RAWA is set up and you could do that easily as well.. As a new camera flyer and having a fixed box like this remember to always look with your head.. YOu will start to see after watching you videos later where you need to work on... That was one of my problems from going to a L-bracket to a fixed box.. So remember to LOOK with your head.. But man I think that it looks good bro.. If you keep yourself jumping all day and have no time to even look at what your video'n then you'll never need to take it out until the end of the day....

that lead that they sell now is actually lead free so you have safety for the environment and aninals so use the lead free lead shot, very common at hunting stores...

I have jumped a number of demos from Icarus, precesion,PD, Attair, Big Air.. Most all of the major labels in the US and none of the ones I jumped had shorter brake lines.. If they sent me one with shorter brakes so I couldnt use my front risers I would send it back and refuse to pay and then send me one with correct brakes.. Who's canopy did you jump that gave you one with short brake lines on it??.. It is also easy to extend the lines if you OK it with the manuf demo guys...
-
well that just strenghtens my case.. I was only counting manufacturers.... I think that I am going to request a demo for an Onyx in the next week or two just for the hell of it.. I know that some guys down at Spaceland i think have jumped them but i dont know anyone else who has...
-
actually they(the makers of the cobalt) came out with the Onyx just a couple of weeks ago.. They claim it to be w 36 cell X-braced With B Germains new canopy soon we will have 5 count them 5 X-Braced canopies that rock on the market to choose from..

Camera helmet advice - top mount vs side mount
cheneyneel replied to Mak's topic in Photography and Video
man there are top fliers in the world that believe strongly with putting the camera on top.. then there are others who believe the side is better.. I think it is all preference my friend. You will hear different remarks why one is better but still it is preference.. I use a side mount just for the easyness of adjusting camera angle to my eyes.. I have had L brackets and d-boxes and nothing really has ever striked my camera except for a few really violent line twist where it wouldnt matter where your camera was it would have hit it.. -
If I were you I would take my time before I bought a cross-braced canopy.... Not that you cant handle it just the fact that there seem to be new X-braced canopies coming out.. I really think that by the mid summer there will be a couple more choices for you to buy.. SO if you really have to buy one soon by a used one for cheap, even if it is not quite the wingloading you want heavier/less what ever.. The three major X-braces are all pretty much equal no matter how much you hear people say bad things about others.. I like to jump them all... Just dont spend a lot of money and then some great canopy comes into production and you wish you bought it...

money money money!!!!!

Yea but I have jumped with a L bracket for a year now and I really like it.. I now have a RAWA that has a fixed DBox.. But I still have my other helmet because I can change the angle anyway I want.. I can even film backwards easily while I am ono the ride up.. SOme L brackets arent like that though.. I know that the manufactures of I think the Velocity helmets make really good versitile L brackets that let you change angles even to backwards.. All my base buddies always use my L Bracket helmet to film their openings on a local antena, and when jumping new canopies I use it to view the parts of opening that I dont regularily see.. Good video once you do it a few times and get the angle perfect...

yea a couple of days ago sulking from the bad weather I accidentially dropped my cell in the beer I was drinking.. I didnt fish it out.. I was in such morning from the lack of jumping that I just drank the beer as usuall until I could reach it out of the pint glass..

Please tell me what the 4.0 mod is.. I have a friend that has a Diablo but wants a new canopy and cant afford to buy one.. This may help in his decision in what to do.. Please inform me about this mod!!??

wow!! I guess my dryer sucks!! mine didnt get that hot... But I could afford one now since I saved so much money on my suit..
-
yea guys always wash it first.. Also you really dont need to wash it in warm water for it to shrink.. Cold will work the trick, is really with the drying on high or medium...
-
I ordered one too guys.. I actually gave bigger measurements because I wasnt sure about the reliability of the company.. I ordered big because I could always make adjustments to it to be smaller than if it was not baggy enough... I am 6'2 235lbs out of the door.. SO what I did first is to shrink it.. It will shrink one good time if you wash it with warm water and dry it on high or medium depending on how much you want it to shrink.. But now it fits perfect for me.. SO try it if it is too big..I know they say preshrunk cotton but it is still cotton and will shrink.. Too big is always easier to fix than too small.. That was my thought when I ordered it.. Plus even if you spend 30$ at a seamstress you still come out over a $100 cheaper than most stock suits.. and you dont have to send it back to South America..

man if you really check the skate board shopsand BMX shops.. also check the BMX and skate magazines.., there are so many new lines of helmets in the skate and BMX bike scene now it's crazy,

I jump a jedei 105 DOM 97 I only jump it because I got it off of ebay for $400 I think that I wingload it too much,,2.3:1 for this canopy though.. But it flies really well.. I like cross braced alot so I am very interested in B Germains new HP canopy.. But the airlocks seem? maybe to help? Maybe more because of my wing loading?? But it hasent acted much different than the traditional open cell elipticals with newer nose styles.. But I only know as much as a 150 jumps on old airlock can tell me with out anyone around to give me input about what to test and see what makes it different?other than B germains website.. I dont really know anyone else that jumps airlock on the Florida,Ala, and Miss pan handle gulf area.. I can still get the same swoop out of crossfires and stilleto all day long if not more..

You got to love being crazy Americans!!!!

if you have a small head the bonehead optik has a massive amount of padding. But only if you have a small head for the size of padding determines the size of the helmet.. Less padding for bigger heads and so on..

As I read through the forums about these guys and their accidents everyone is talking about the winds the call of making the jump in the winds etc.. In some of the forums they talk of the big accuracy canopies that they flew and how they were pushed back and tossed around.. My question is (just out of curiosity) how would have situations changed for the canopy pilots if they were flying different types and sizes of canopies?
