BPA insurance... Need some clarification
paraman1 replied to TrickyDicky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Am I correct in saying that any Brit jumping in Europe has to satisfy the local authority and prove that they have insurance that covers skydiving - rgardless of BPA membership? This is the situation I had in France. If this is the case, surely it is fair to expect the same in return, non Brits are not covered by the NHS so should produce sydiving qualified insurance to jump at UK DZ's? .......... and get temp BPA membership. As for the exclusion in the policy about disqualifying all skydivers if 1 is not a BPA member ....... I think that's illegal anyway as the insurance is individual and the individual canot be panalised for what someone else does. Known as unfair/restrictive practice. However I stand to be corrected. -
So all of you DZ owners and Instructors, how about getting rigs and equipment to take the heavier amongst us as students?

Well said and defended Caroline, a review is there to be either accepted or otherwise, its not gospel and people are free to chhose how they take it.

Hi Phreezone

"Are wind tunnels a waste of time or even just a passing fad?" In my view no, i'm English and have the misfortune of having the British climate to contend with - we now have 2 south central windtunnels, Bodyflight at Bedford and Airkix at Milton Keynes. These 2 establishments have provided a whole new dimension to UK skydiving, especiallyfor the student and formation teams ........... ther eis also the aspect of wuffo involvement, and I believe that many of these wuffo's will go on to take up the sport itself. If as is common, the clouds are over - the UK is grounded and staring up at the skies waiting for a miracle is pretty disheartening. I believe that the windtunnels have been the biggest break through in the sport since the development of the square canopy and will be with us und improving until the end.

I'm not so sure i'm so keen on the tunnel now - it seems to be too strong and blows off one's clothing -
