    First Jump

I made my first jump today (tandem) at Redcliffe here in Australia / Queensland. It was a totaly awesome experiance, that has left me in a natural high all day, I can't imagine how i'm going to get to sleep later. I've been trying to put the experiance into words so i can tell the guys at work about it, and I can't do it, there are no words in the english language that can describe the sensations and emotions that I felt during the whole event. The moment that I left the airplane with the tandem master, I felt the most intense and mind numbing fear of my life, the feeling in the pit of my stomach as we fell was gut wrenching. The roar of sound in my ears as we acelerated added a total feeling of speed. And once the tandem master had us in a level fall, I found that I could not breath easily because of the rush of wind, but I just focused on pushing air out and pulling it in. We fell for about 40 seconds or so, with the city and beach coming up at us real fast. I though the deceleration from the opening of the chute would be a lot worse than it actualy was. And for the next 6 minutes the tandem master let me make a few turns and stuff. Once he had us on the beach I had this totaly awesome high happening and could not sit still for a moment ! I am certain that this is a sport that i am going to dive into ( sorry about the choice of words ) with all my determination. To anyone out there who has not done this, DO IT !!! you only live once, I can't imagine who I was yesterday, before my jump, all i know now is that I am totaly adicted and am signing up for an AFF course to get my licence to jump solo. Anyway sorry to ramble on about this, but I felt i had to share my experiance with you all :) Steve
